Haven't hung out here for a while...
I guess too many twenty-somethings that I couldn't relate to in here and nearly zero traffic in the mature and divorced forums. Too much vitriol and hate in the political forums. Too much theological arguing and sniping in the other forums.
Can't remember the last time I logged in here... I spent three weeks in Japan in October visiting my daughter and three grand-kids. Had a great time!
Sold my Jeep and bought a UTV instead. Did some camping and fishing and have had no drama. Finally embraced singleness and decided to enjoy my freedom rather than dread it.
Then my ex-fiance from 25 years ago tracked me down on Facebook and re-connected. She is divorced, lives in New Jersey, still beautiful, and the VP of a very large addiction treatment corporation.
She was having a conference in my area and wanted to get together for dinner.
We had a lovely time and a great conversation. Here was this beautiful, successful, funny, wonderful woman from my past that literally dropped from the sky...
But we didn't feel anything romantic for each other... LOL. She's great. I'm great. No interest on either of our part to get involved again. We're still friends on Facebook, though.
Ok God, that was weird...
Then right after my 50th birthday, I got a message on Facebook from a woman who I have known for about three years and found very attractive, but it was not mutual, apparently.
She asked about my plans for the holidays and we ended up going out. I spent Christmas with her and her family.
She's 40, Christian, beautiful, a brunette, 5'5", divorced for ten years, no kids, no drama, wonderful family, conservative, loves fishing and the outdoors, etc, etc.
She's literally the woman of my dreams. Literally...
I shared here about a dream I had years ago that I believe was from God. There was a woman I was embracing that I didn't see her face, only knew that she was much shorter than me, had long, wavy brunette hair, and I felt nothing but total love and affection when we embraced.
My current girlfriend matches the woman in the dream perfectly.
Coincidence? I don't know. It's too early in the relationship to really be sure if she's THE ONE. But she is incredible.
We can't believe that we didn't get together sooner. We are so completely compatible and have great conversations about every subject.
Just so thankful that we are together and am excited for the future.
Just wanted to share whats been going on the past few months and check in.
