Oh behave! Is there a rationale for this change I can read anywhere?

The rationale is simple. The ownership of this site decided that Christian only forums align with LeeD's vision for this site. Also, many Christians members requested this change. Personally, I think that we do need areas where we can edify, teach, and debate each other (Christians). There are over 250 forums in CF and this policy affects only about 50 so the majority of the site is still available to all.

Shame really. It's a bit like only letting Christians into church if you ask me.

It depends on what non-Christians DID in church.

As far as I could see, they seemed well behaved and respectful towards the theistic basis of this forum.

To be frank, I've had plenty of trouble and painful moments from Christian brothers and sisters here, and almost none from non-Christians. The non-Christians who do find their way into this forum are either so openly belligerent that nobody plays with them and they slink off after a while, or often far more mature and sensitive to Christian sensitivities than some of the Christian hardliners on both sides. (Then again, I haven't seen any non-Christian creationists around here, so this may full well be just a result of my position.)

I feel the same. When some rude atheists came to this forum, they seems talk more reasonably. Not sure why.
