Matthew 24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

"This is just appalling," Williams told the newspaper. "I could continue shopping and not render aid and then take time out to take a picture? That's crazy. What happened to our respect for life?"

Then you have the lady at the emergency room in L.A. that not only was refused help but arrested and put into a police car while dying. She was arrested on a minor warrant. I have not heard why they would not help her but people seemed to hint toward insurance issues.

Is that the same poor woman they dumped off at skid row in her hospital nightgown?

That's awful.

I've heard a few stories like that recently. It's sad, but I'm not as shocked by it anymore.

One of them my mom brought to my attention, is of an elderly guy who was being beaten up in daylight in a parking lot. The attacker pinned him against a car and kept beating him. The parking lot camera shows about 3-4 people in the background just standing and talking/watching. Didn't even go help the guy once the attacker drove off in the guy's car.

The other story was even worse, in my opinion. Some lady got attacked in one of the Toronto subway stations. Beaten up pretty bad..and all while security watched! A witness claimed that he even went to the ticket booth to get them to call for the police and they told him they were too busy. No one helped. Later on the security gaurd union is claiming that they were instructed to let the police patrolmen take care of attacks like this, for their own safety.

I don't know about you, but if I were a security gaurd watching some helpless lady get beaten up, I wouldn't care too much about the rules. Or at the very 'least', if that's the case, you go call for help. Not just stand there and watch. It's appauling.

Can you imagine the poor lady if she saw the gaurd there doing nothing? *shudder*
