Yeah, the really hairy guy this season (why can't I remember his name? the one in the opening scene with the two girls in the bedroom) will probably clean up really well. I bet he's not recognizable after the makeover.

So, I continue to be uninformed about this show...what do they win?

And do folks actually "learn" on it?

"All we are saying...is give Geeks a chance!"

Stuff like that?

This actually synergizes with our conversation in the Mythbusters thread*. What do they win? Well, the ultimate winners get a quarter mil. I guess the rest get scale. There is also the personal growth aspect that tends to be about a 50/50 for show participants. The Geeks come out a bit and the Beauties learn that books aren't just toilet paper with pretty bindings.

Aaaand then there's the showmances. Every season has had one so far, after the Geekovers... so we'll have to see.

* Most of the posters to JREF forums are geeks/nerds, etc. and it's interesting seeing the "Skepchicks" say how they are most turned on by personalities and brains giving prematurely bald, paunchy guys who know what all those Greek letters in those math equations mean hope.

Thanks US...

We saw the re-run tonight...only the part with the ladies giving the tours...

Oh my goodness. Science IS NOT my strong subject, but come on!

And there were certainly other ladies who SHOULD have been in the elimination instead...that I don't understand. Keeping weak players around, perhaps?

Sadly I think the "blonde clique" is just that, a bunch of shallow girls forming a very shallow pool together (and sunbathing by it rather than reading their study materials).

And yes, the tours were painful to watch.

The "geeks" on the show seem "geekier" but the girls on the show seem alot more "airheaded" too! [wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth] I can't believe the way some of those girls are! My daughter is like "I could so kick butt on that show" because she is pretty and extremly smart. lol

so pointless..

and yet so VERY amusing

LOL! So, so true!

Seeing the guys after their makeovers just convinces me that they try to look extra geeky at the start of the series. Otherwise, there'd be no contrast.

Nate, especially. I've seen his Myspace page, and he definitely did not always have unruly hair and a beard. He did that before the show to boost his geek factor. And, for the record, he did clean pretty well!

I love the show. I don't get a chance to watch a lot of TV let alone catch it when it's on but I get lucky some days. It is so awesome to watch. I remember one epsiode last season when one of the guys played the piano for one of the girls.... it was soooooo good. I loved it.

Megan did a great job building the dog house. It looked like she could actually do something. Last week she didn't understand the walkie talkie.
Yeah, that was an interesting challenge! I don't know how I would do on that. CeCe probably did better than I would! LOL. I was good at building things when I was younger though.

I read a TV Guide interview, and it turns out that Megan wasn't really the problem with the walkie-talkie -- it was SCOOTER who kept pushing the wrong button!
