  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Be not deceived

I can forget easy, but Ive seen no humility shown, not even evidence of it. It's just simple truth. Maybe the false profit thing is wrong but the truth is his church can't be bearing good fruit with a hate monger preaching. I make no other claim about the man. I don't think I'm better than him. I'm no better. No one is good, no not one. It's possible he feels bad and has repented, idk. But if he publicly sinned he should publicly show humility and there would be no need to ask the question in the first place. It wasn't one shameful moment either it was many moments over many years i think.

Complete understand the caution about saying something is from the Holy Spirit though it seems everyone seems to define blasphemy differently.

"Fruit inspections" aren't a commandment while loving Yahweh and others is. Sometimes we particularly notice something in order to pray about it. You know - to check our heart condition, forgive, and then asks Yahweh to bless them. NOT easy in many cases but Yahweh knows we need His help to do it. I know I do.

Without faith it is impossible to please God. I have always wondered what blasphemy of the holy spirit is, it is the only unforgivable sin. If it means not excepting the HS, rejecting God, then it's open shut. However if it means claiming to speak by it when you don't, we should be careful. If someone says Jesus is lord they do so only by the HS. But can they also hear a voice not of God and think it is the HS? I hope not, but it's something that worries me.

But isn't that the very definition of blasphemy? Declaring Christ but loving the devil? Anyone can declare that Christ is Lord, there is nothing preventing them. But to believe it, now that is the gift of the Spirit.
