BC Forest fires.

Hey is anyone in the line of fire ( honestly, no pun intended) or can you see the smoke from where you are??

There are loads of new fires now, the big bad # is up to 479. :o

Anyone else experiencing this, whether or not you are in BC?

I don't consider myself a tree-hugger, but I love this earth God has given us and I hate to see it in flames.

Pray that we don't have the same disaster happen like we did last summer in Kelowna.

Actually fire can be very healthy for the forest. It is cleansing in many ways, and fertilizes the ground for new growth afterwards. It's only bad because we are sometimes in the path and because pulp mills lose money when trees burn.

A friend of mine is in Rapattack, which is an alberta forest fire fighting team. It sounds like a lot of fun. He gets to jump out of planes and stuff. Talk about a cool job (well, maybe it's hot...).
