Okay guys, this is not meant to be a controersial topic nor is it a question about how the Catholic Church views BC... it is only about finding a solution. Thanks in advance.

I have a friend who has major problems with her periods in that they are EXTREMELY irregular and painful. a couple years ago she started on birht control which made them totally regular and not painful. SHe said it was the first time she had ever had "normal" periods that didn't give her such horrible pains and occur so irregularly.
Well, she is getting married soon and she doesn't want to use bc once married for moral reasons (since most bs have the potential to abort a fertilized egg) so she stopped using it (becuase it takes a few months to get out of your system completely and she wants to be "clean" lol) but now (after a few months) she is back to the unpredictable very difficult and painful.
here's the question:
Does anyone else know of any good alternatives to regulating periods?
Her doctor said there's really nothing else.
Personal experience definitely welcome.
