  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Now that the trilogy has ended, and Nolan is done with Batman (according to him)....a reboot is inevitable (too much money to be had).

Any ideas of what you'd like to see?

I'd like to see more of Batman's investigation skills brought in. And I think the Riddler would be good for that as a first villain, because he leaves clues...it could really show how good Batman is at solving puzzles. Especially if they approached the Riddler like mass murderers that taunt the police and not just a joker rip-off. Maybe even approach Batman at first from the perspective of Gordan to give Batman this mysterious nature to him.

If nothing else, something in the style of the Animated Series would be awesome. A direct adaptation would be even better.

Anyway, enough about what I'd like to see! And please keep in mind that this is NOT about whether there should be a reboot. Only what you'd like the reboot to be like, if they hypothetically made one.

Ok, maybe its the reboot word.....if you could make your ideal Batman movie, what would it be like?

That's the point of this thread, not whether you'd make a reboot or not. :)

It would be pretty much like the Dark Knight Rises.

First, I'd like to see another actor play Batman. I don't really care for Christian Bale playing him. In The Dark Knight, the Joker ends up making Batman look like a wuss. Isn't Batman supposed to be the hero who defeats the villains, not the other way around?

I'd like to see more variety of villains too. It seems like they use they use the same ones over and over again. (i.e. the Joker, Two-Face, etc.)

Thanks for the response wholigan11. Yeah, the Joker definitely stole the show for that movie. Which disappointed me, because I felt Batman Begins was a unique film for being primarily about the hero. And yeah, Batman wasn't really intimidating in that film either. He wasn't as cool as he was in Begins or even the 1989 film.

Yeah, the only two usual villains I'd like to see in a new trilogy is Riddler, because the only film version we've seen is Batman Forever's, and while I haven't seen the entire film, from what I have seen, he reminded me too much of the joker. So I'd like to see a more serious interpretation. And I'd like to see a joker that's more like the Animated Series's take...more fantastical. Like a crazier version of Tim Burton's. Plus including Harley Quinn would be interesting (maybe if they did a trilogy, they could put her in by the 3rd movie, so they can properly set up Arkham Asylum?).

But other than that, I'd like to see villains like Hugo Strange or Clayface. I think Scarecrow and Ras Ghul need a break. Hugo Strange could again bring out Batman's crime solving skills that we haven't seen really that much in the Nolan films and only some of it in Batman 1989. We need more of Batman the detective, not Batman the gadget aided ninja.

Yeah that would be interesting. I really only see Harley Quinn in the animated series, plus the story between her and the Joker is so entertaining!

I guess I'd make it more like the 90's cartoon...more surreal and give Batman a gray costume rather than the all black ones like the movies. They don't need another Batman movie series. DC Comics should start focusing on giving movies to their other characters...I want to see a Flash movie.
