  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Just thought I'd do a reincarnation of the previous thread.

http://batmanbegins.warnerbros.com/#

Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins explores the origins of the Batman legend and the Dark Knight’s emergence as a force for good in Gotham. In the wake of his parents’ murder, disillusioned industrial heir Bruce Wayne (CHRISTIAN BALE) travels the world seeking the means to fight injustice and turn fear against those who prey on the fearful. He returns to Gotham and unveils his alter-ego: Batman, a masked crusader who uses his strength, intellect and an array of high tech deceptions to fight the sinister forces that threaten the city.

*This film has nothing to do with the previous movies. There is no connection whatsoever to make Batman Begins a prequel to Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Forever, or Batman and Robin.

I'm SO excited about seeing this!! I've never watched any of the other Batman movies, except for a couple scenes in the first one. But that doesn't count. The only reason I'm interested in seeing this Batman is because Batman is being played by someone I actually like. Christian Bale. I'm a huge C. Bale fan. I think Batman Begins is going to be excellent. I can't wait for it to come out. I only hope there's really not much objectional material in it, though. My parents are very strict on what I watch, and I don't blame them for it.

Well there's no sex in it, I can guarantee that. It's gonna be rated PG-13 for intense violence. There's alot of swordfighting, brutal hand to hand combat, explosions, brutal ninja training, and some frightening images. There might be some profanity here or there, but not as bad as the movies we have today.

I cannot wait for this film. I am very, very, very, very, very excited.

Christian Bale is an EXCELLENT choice for Batman. He did and amazing job in Equilibrium. I think he will be the best choice since Micheal Keaton and perhaps even surpass him.

Am I the only one that wishes they had a revamp on the custom? I think all the Batman outfits have looked silly. DD, Spider-man, and the X-men all had very convincing costumes. Batman's looks too stiff and rubbery and hard. I guess I'm being too picky. But Batman's probably my favorite comic book character, and I think he should be more spooky and fluid looking then Halloween costumey. This is probably the best one they've made so far, but even so....at least he can turn his neck without having to turn his whole body this time.

I'm a bit of the fan of the costume. As in that little article that was linked, Batman has no superpowers. It makes sense that he has some sort of hardened protective gear to wear while fighting. And as for movement restriction, with advances nowadays in what can stop a bullet, etc... I think he can figure something out just fine.

They totally revamped the Batmobile though. That thing looks... a bit over-the-top. But still... should be awesome...

By the way... who is R'ah Al Ghul (sp?) being played by? How 'bout the Scarecrow? It looks like this storyline could be sweet... except I never realized that R'ah Al Ghul was a ninja... oh well.

I just hope it's better than the last couple Batman flicks. I'm still not sure about Christian Bale. In fact, I don't think they've found the perfect guy for the part yet. None of them have really worked for me...

It's not the Batmobile yet. Batman just steals it from his company and uses it in the movie. Expect him to refurbish it in the sequel.

Ra's Al Ghul is believed to be an immortal who is also mentor of Batman for a short while in the comics. His origin has been changed somewhat in the movie, but he is very strong and agile. He is an expert with the sword as well. He has a daughter named Talia, who is one of Batman's lovers. Ra's Al Ghul is played by Ken Watanabe (The Last Samurai). And Cillian Murphy (28 Days Later) is playing Dr. Johnathan Crane aka The Scarecrow.

Believe me, they have. If you watch "Equilibrium", you will be convinced that Christian Bale can become Batman. He also has great respect for the character and divides up his part into 3 individuals: 1) Bruce Wayne-the millionare playboy who Bruce uses as coverup 2) Bruce Wayne-the tormented soul 3) Batman-the creature who deals with corruption in Gotham.

This Batman movie will definitely be better than the previous because of the ensemble cast and the director: Christopher Nolan.:)

I really cannot wait. Liam Neeson may be my favorite character actor at the moment, and he also is featured as a teacher to Orlando Blooms character in another movie I am anxious for, Kingdom of Heaven. I have only ever seen Ken Watanabe in The Last Samurai, but he was great in that. And atleast they don't have the nipple indentations that they had in that batman George Clooney starred in. This film is going to be much darker than the previous films but that fits the character better, which is the other big reason I am looking forward to it.

This movie is going to be amazing. I think that Christian Bale will by far be the best Batman that we've had on the silver screen. There are some other good movies coming out too such as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka.
