Dear Bakin. I do not want to hurt or go against God`s Commandments, firstly because I love Him, and also because I know that whatever I do, will have consequences. That is God`s Law. I always try to follow His Law, which means love God with all my being, and love and treat others as I would like to be treated by others. I found it becomes easier with time, and fills me with Joy and Peace. Anything against such acts of consideration for my family, friends and all I meet, I will look upon as barriers, and will do my best to avoid. Greetings from Emmy, sister in Christ.

Really? What are God's consequences for a comma splice?

Is there anything you would like to think but don't because of your religion? For example, would you like to think that X is alright, but don't because your religion or authorities in your religion disagree?
Well, occasionally I'll have an impulse that I feel is better to suppress, for ethical reasons. The desire to become violent during a dispute, for instance, or the wish to make more money at the expense of others.

I remember as a Christian there were questions I couldn't ask and I could really have benefited from having an agnostic there to ask them for me. Salvation is by faith so serious doubt means not being saved so serious questions became unaskable after a certain point.

1 I was told salvation was the free gift of God. Why would it cost me everything?

2. I was told God had a plan for my life. What was that plan?

3. I was told that although I may have felt nothing, God is true to his word and the Holy Spirit was dwelling in me. I didn't benefit at all and nor did it seem any of the other Christians were changed either. The nice ones stayed nice, the nasty ones stayed nasty and nobody could agree on what the Bible meant. In Bible studies war raged over law and grace and predestination.

While going out on evangelism we met a non believer who had studied religion at A level (sort of like advanced placement I guess for those in the US).

She knew a lot more of what the Bible said than I did and had a much better grasp on what each part meant. I was left feeling underpowered and wondering why the indwelling Holy Spirit and myself couldn't even keep up with let alone answer a 20 year old agnostic.

And there was a debate at the University and the Christians got trashed. We could have used some help.

So if there was no god would you just go out and do that?

No... I was just trying to answer the question. It's a strange thing to ask, as I see it. One's religious beliefs determine how one makes ethical decisions, so the only instance in which I could imagine not doing something on account of religion is one in which a base instinct was being countered by the realm of ethics, morality, religion, etc.
