I've only respected the words of any pope on rare occasion, and then from a "stopped clock is right twice a day" perspective.

That's how I feel about protestants.

*edited to add that their only right those two times a day when they are in agreement with the Catholic Church*

Dang. I forgot which thread this was! I meant to unsubscribe to it. My bad. I'll delete the post.

Actually and truthfully Trump is doing more to promote the Christian faith than Obama did in his many years in office.

Never mind... if you believe that, then there's nothing I can say that wouldn't be seen as flaming you or other evangelicals who support him too. I can't say what I honestly think, so I'll leave it alone.

Just like St. Francis, he takes reforming the Church seriously. And that's bound to ruffle feathers.

I think Pope Francis has been more of an example of Christian charity and mercy than any protestant pastor or Christian leader I've seen in my entire last time. I've said if I were to return to the Christian church, it would be through the Catholic Church, as I've experienced here in TLT. It would be because of the Christian compassion toward marginalized people (LGBT, Muslims, Refugees, immigrants) and because of the concern for the environment and global warming. It would be the Christian example of the regular members of TLT and that of Pope Francis that I would look for in the Catholic Church.
