The WMUR/CNN poll released Wednesday showed the New York senator's lead — which as recently as a month-and-a-half ago was at a robust 20 points — dwindling to a statistical tie with Democratic rival Barack Obama.
Keep speaking Hillary, The public is finally listening.

If Hillary looses, will she be like Kennedy, and run in every election? I think she will.

doubt she'll run again if she loses. This was her chance, and so much of her time has been on planning this campaign. If she ever does run again, I doubt it will be as a serious contender.

Not a supporter of Obama, but he seems to be
above the mud.
Letting Hillary drive her numbers down, while keeping his message on.
I am impressed with him, even if he doesn't win this time, I think he will be able to try again. Because, I don't think he has blown everything on this run.
He is new, and people don't know him well. Unlike Hillary, who everyone knows, she won't have any ammo left after this election.
I think her ambition won't settle for anything less then
president, so she will be running every election, but if she doesn't get it with 10 yrs of preperation, she won't
be a contender.

If worse comes to worse and he doesn't win, it would be nice if you're right about this. However, I'm unfortunately rather skeptical; I think that a lot of Obama's appeal rests on his novelty, and he'll lose that if he doesn't win this race and runs again. Plus, he'll have a record in the Senate, which is always more of a burden than anything else.

Still, who knows. Maybe he'll be able to compensate for that somehow. I can't say for sure, so I'll remain optimistic.

I think some in her campaign will still keep trying to discredit; get dirt on/smear him.
IF it ever comes out that that was tried, then he has a good chance.

they are, and fairly openly (or at least incompetently enough that people are finding out)

they're going to throw whatever they can at him and hope something sticks. if it doesn't, she gets in trouble for going negative, but with the momentum he has right now she doesn't have many options.

Just remember that the polls aren't what count. It's the vote of the people who bother to vote in the primary that count. And unfortunately, it's the people that get to vote in a few select primaries that really count.

I just wish I saw and heard less on the horse race, and more on issues. What issues is Obama beating Hillary on?

the war, both in past and future tenses. she seems unable to deal with her past position(s) on Iraq, and seems to be slightly unable to keep a consistent position now. I believe that he's got a better health care plan than she does, and I believe she's being disingenous when she claims her plan is universal, but has an unenforced mandate. If the numbers are anything similar to the unenforced mandate on car insurance, her plan will leave more people uninsured than she has claimed Obama's will. He's beating her on Iran policy.

Mostly, though, they're fairly similar on a lot of issues. A great deal of the differences between them has to do with their ability to actually bring those ideas into reality, and get the country behind them with a mandate to actually do what they claim should be done. I don't disagree with Hillary on a great deal (except when she's pandering to the right) but I don't think she'll be able to get much done, crippled as she will be by the disapproval of half the country before she even has the nomination.

My emphesis on her positions, she can't keep a constant on many positions.
I don't trust Hillary on health care, she failed before, badly.
Will this be a true mandate? Or one made up like when the Dems took over Congress with a mandate?
How do you have a mandate, when you are a majority
by 1 seat?

I believe if Hillary keeps speaking without her PR people giving her sound bites, she will continue to fall. She isn't likable off the cuff.
And I think Obama is.

I think it was a quasi-mandate because the Dems picked up soooo many seats. After '08 it will be an obvious mandate.

Anyways, back to the OP. I think that Hillary's problem is that many Dems are finally beginning to realize how polarizing she is. Even if she gets the nomination and wins, the country will be just as split as it is now; only difference is the Dems are in control. I think that a Hillary Presidency is the last thing this country needs right now. And I think people are beginning to realize that...
