Baptist VS Orthodox: Major Differences?

Hi, I'm Colby, a Baptist Christian. "Bushmaster78FS"
(a good friend of mine) encouraged me to post a question about how Orthodox is different from Baptist. I wanted to know more about the Othodox church before I considered believing in it. Does anybody have anything they can share, maybe information about the Orthodox religion, or just some personal thoughts on it? I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Here's a suggestion. Study the bible with only a concordence for 10 yrs., believe only what the Lord places on your heart, be ready to reform those ideas as He applies deeper truths and not worry about what division you are lining up with because it will be all of the truths of them all without any of their manmade traditions.

How can one be so sure... about traditions? We are only seekers in this world... Christ was born within a "tradition" he was a historical person ...was he not?

Search in the history... and find the historical Jesus...that is what I have started to do...and I am in my way.... reading the Bible first... and then the lives of all the Apostles.

Also go to the the congregational area forums I think I saw a forum called the "ancient way" the Orthodox Church congegation is there....They do claim to have roots to the Historical church... and it is quite conviencing...
