Hi Mandy,
You got a lot more questions than answers. I am not asking you to do this. God is commanding you to respond on His terms. His terms are explicitly stated. If you don't want to, knowing that He commands it, that's your business. Even the Pharisees wouldn't get baptized and they kept people out of the kingdom b/c they would not submit to Him.
Then I guess all the Jewish apostles were wrong because they baptized in the name of Jesus, and never was it recorded that they used the TITLES. Unless you can find scriptural evidence for me that says otherwise, they baptized in Jesus' name.I notice you keep saying "In Jesus' name". You are oneness person? Jesus said to baptize in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.
Jesus came in the name of the Father (a title) and the Holy Spirit (a title) was sent in His name. Do you have a different name for the Father and the Holy Spirit? "The Son" is also a title. That's not His name. There's no question as to His name. There's is only One True God. His name is Jesus.
If this is true then why get baptized at all? Why obey God? Why repent? Why seek to receive His Holy Spirit? If the gospel does not need to be obeyed, as the scripture explicitly declares, then you do not need repentance or baptism in water or Spirit.sorry but you are wrong, baptism is not necessary for salvation.
We are to be baptized, but it does not cause anyone to be born again.
Paul wrote this letter to a church that he himself established in the gospel and doctrine of Jesus Christ (I Corinthians 15 & Hebrews 6). They were already saved according to the gospel he preached to them, if they held fast to it. Paul would not preach the gospel again to those saved already? Understanding that he was writing to those already saved must tell you that he was meaning something else. Not how to get saved. That was very well recorded in acts.Paul said that if we confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in our heart that He rose from the dead we shall be saved.
He could have very easily added baptism in there.
