In the 2nd chapter of Acts, the people asked Peter, "What must we do to be saved?"
Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." (Acts 2:38)

Hope that helps.

Baptism is a public repentant of your sins. To baptise someone is to fully immerse them in water, as the original greek states. Galatians 2:20 is very relevant, ill let you read up on it. When get baptised you are publically repenting of your sins, and youre 'reborn in christ' in a sense.

God Bless, metal.!

In a word, no. You do not need to be baptized in water to be baptized by Jesus with the Holy Spirit. John 3:11 "I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance; but he that comes after me is mightier than i, whose shoes i am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:"
The baptism with fire is to refine our faith, it is trials and tribulations that we go through as christians. The Holy Spirit(Ghost) indwells us to lead us to right choices when faced with temptations, and to empower us to make the right choices. So it is all of Him, and none of us. He gives us the desire to do right, then the power to carry it out. Let God be glorified in all that we do in word or deed.
That is what the baptism of the Holy Ghost is for, not to manifest signs and wonders and allow us to speak in tongues. Many people are misled by this...

You dont NEED to be baptised in water to be saved, but you will never be fully equipped to 'walk the walk' until youre baptised in both water and the holy spirit.

This is the order in which Jesus was baptised. It was only until AFTER that he was tested.

Jesus Baptism = Luke 3:21-4:18 | Mark 1:9-13 | Matthew 3:13-4:11

Jesus Baptism in Water = Matthew 3:13-15 | Mark 1:9 | Luke 3:21
Jesus Baptism in Holy Spirit = Matthew 3:16-17 | Mark 1:10-11 | Luke 3:22
Jesus Baptism in Fire = Matthew 4:1-4 | Mark 1:12-13 | Luke 4:1-12

If you see here, Jesus Baptism of fire only occured AFTER he had been baptised in water, and in the holy spirit. It was after that, that he was fully equipped to be tested.

God Bless, metal.
