Is there any bands/artists whatever that you would LOVE to see live, and would do pretty much ANYTHING to see them? But havent? Either because they are no longer together, dead, or you just havent had the chance to see them?

And also, have you been able to see someone live that you always wanted to? So when you saw them it was like a dream come true? If so, who?

For me personally... there is one band above all that I would like to see more then anyone else, and thats Pink Floyd. I have been a HUGE fan of Pink Floyd ever since I was little (thanks dad  ) and its just always been my dream to see them live.

Other bands on my "dream" list include:
Rolling Stones
Aerosmith
U2

I would have loved to have seen Pink Floyd in their early 70s heyday-- still experimental. I saw their '94 tour with their 10-piece band; it was great to see Floyd and hear the big hits, but I was craving something more...

Anyways, back to the OP: I'd have loved to have seen the ca.1972-74 incarnations of Gong, Tangerine Dream, Can, ELP, King Crimson, Genesis, Grateful Dead, Jethro Tull... too many to list really! I would have loved to have seen any of Rush's 70's tours, Iron Maiden's 1984 World Slavery Tour, the "Clash of the Titans" Slayer/Megadeth/Anthrax tour in 1990...

As far as who's around now that I'd like to see? Tortoise, Acid Mothers Temple, Gong, Ben Harper, Godspeed You Black Emperor, more that I can't think of at the moment...

Oh man. Too many. I'd have loved to see the Velvet Underground back in the day. The Ramones. The Jam. The Buzzcocks. The Clash. Joy Division. Cabaret Voltaire. Coil (now sadly impossible, since John Balance died).

Current groups I really want to see: Explosions in the Sky, Solvent, The Unicorns, Styrofoam, Fiery Furnaces, The Veils, Ulrich Schnauss, Lali Puna...and I've never seen Yo La Tengo. I really should before someone in that band dies ...hmmm...probably lots more.

EDIT: Oooo, and Boards of Canada and Autechre. I must see those two before I die.

Only live I've seen are Godsmack, Kutless, Third Day and Tait.

I was SOOOOO unbelievably close to seeing their Crow Left Of The Murder show when it came here in Los Angeles. But my friend cancelled out at the last second. :(

As for other bands:

-System of a Down (I went to their show a couple months ago, but I was outside. I did meet the lead singer though! That's probably the highlight of my life so far ;))
-Nine Inch Nails (I'd love to have went to the Fragility tour a couple years ago, but he's touring next year anyway)
-Tool
-Clapton (I would love to have seen his solo shows)
-Any shows that Queen did with David Bowie. I think they made a great combo for "Under Pressure"
-Early Doors
-Early E.L.O
