I drank an Imperial Stout once.

I woke up in the middle of the night.

I saw things.

I'm leaving it at that.
Haha... reminds me of a thread about how gaseous material can make you see things.... maybe it made you flatulent ^_^

Both my grandmother and I seem to have a tendency toward discernment, and there have been a few times it's kicked in (it's certainly not a common feeling, and it's instantly recognizable). At those times I simply remind myself that nothing can actually happen to me due to it because I'm protected, recall Psalm 23, and pray for peace of mind.

That being said, though, I still remain skeptical of a lot of other peoples' claims on the subject, simply because many times I've seen people claim things like that it tends to be a little ostentatious or concerning a topic I myself have never experienced such reactions from, so I chalk it up to their personal convictions and constitutions on whatever matter it is.

In terms of that sort of dread I get when I legitimately know something is going on, it's come at times other people would have no issue - my grandmother has experienced it a couple of times in churches, and likewise I've experienced it before when landing on some televangelist programs. It's an awful, murky feeling like something just grabs you through the chest and won't let go. The stronger times it happens I can't even keep the station on and have to turn it.

Pray, ask Christ to make whatever it is leave you alone.

To the poster who posted just above me - remember, your fears and weaknesses and tempations are not the same as everyone elses. Ergo, what your discernment warns you about will not necessarily be what someone else's discernment warns them about.

At the moment Im feeling a bad presence and Im really freaked out. I have been feeling bad vibes recently and I think it may be evil spirits. Has anyone else experienced this?
yeah... but then i remember i have the covering of the Lambs blood and i have no reason to fear anything or anyone besides the Lord. No one is more powerful than Him after all ;)

The LORD is my light and my salvation;
Whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the strength of my life;
Of whom shall I be afraid? - Psalm 27:1

I know that. As I said, in many cases I see it as the difference in a person's own convictions being the root cause. The type of discernment I'm talking about though is in the context of 1 Corinthians 12:10 (which in some translations is rendered as 'distinguishing' rather than 'discerning', but the meaning is still the same).

I have a history with the demonic and activity/experiences related. In order to walk in victory and peace over this struggle in your life, you'll need to ask God to show you who you are in Christ, which is everything you've become through being born again. In truth, you are God's dearly loved (beloved) child. Perfect love casts out all fear (see 1 John 4). God has made you righteous by faith. You become the righteousness of God when you changed your mind concerning sin and believed that Jesus died for your sins, was buried, three days was resurrected, and ascended into heaven and made to sit at the right hand of the throne of God where he now sits as Lord and King. This righteousness is a gift to all who believe, and is something you'll need to recieve in your understanding, experience, and personal walk with the Father in order to "reign" over this that is troubling you. (see Rom. 5:17). In truth, when Jesus died, he defeated satan and every demon. As a child of God, there is not anything in all creation can separate you from His love, because he has transferred you into the Kingdom of His Son, Christ the Lord, and brought you out of the kingdom of satan and darkness. (see Rom. 8:39 Col. 1:13)
