I have always thought that the story about the possessed man and the legion of evil spirits within him that told of them wanting to be sent into the herd of swine was the end of them as they were driven over the cliff.
And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.
2And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,.........................And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.
13And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand ) and were choked in the sea.
Two thousand pigs, were they all drowned? I thought pigs couldn't swim, but that's not apparently true.
Pig Beach.
Pig Beach (also known as
Pig Island, Major Cay, and officially Big Major Cay) is an uninhabited island (or cay) located in Exuma, the Bahamas, and known for being populated by many
swimming feral
pigs.
It says they were drowned, but it doesn't say all were drowned, which leads me to believe that it was like the case of Amelek, and Agag, a seed survived else there would be no Haman later on in the story of Esther.
I think some of those pigs swam to shore, reproduced and today their seed has made it round the world, what else could explain this insane obsession?
