When I read the Bible as a child, I simply could not reconcile it with the modern world. I begged God to be sent to the time it was written in, and wound up losing my life without actually finding it.
Let us consider the time of the Bible: people were serious. There was nothing fun to do. They lived shorter lives. Death, disease, and natural disasters were common. War was common. Lust and drunkenness were common. Work was simple, everyone in town knew one another. Customs were enforced and actually taken seriously. Things were simple and sure, language was less developed. There was but a single church.
Today there are hundreds of denominations, and many believe the Bible can be made to say anything one desires. The simple truth, has been complicated onto much confusion (aka babylon)
Did Christ abolish the law? Doesn't this make God into a hard nosed dictator, an insane [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] that died in order to contradict himself? Nah, but to be perfected onto Love and Salvation.
Christians: Christ, save us from God
Jews: God, save us from Christ
Atheists: just shoot me
Satanists: we're all going to the bad place, but we'll actually have fun.
Reincarnation: We learn lessons in life, to forget them and start all over again.
Cults: We have stupid unfounded ideas that usually end in suicide.
Occult: God hid the truth, so we should spend our whole lives finding it and then keep it to ourselves.
What Insanity!
Modern Christ: Believe and be worldly, don't even read your Bibles.
Old World Christ: I am Sparticus! You can be too.
Lets face it: modern culture does not submit to God. Not one person can say in his heart that sentencing any man to never-ending fire and torment is just. Not even his most devoted followers should want this to happen. Or look at how often a person was struck dead because of some seemingly minor disobedience. Uzzah, just for touching the ark of the covenant because he thought it would fall.
Now God is longsuffering, even in the old testament, more so where Christ is involved, and more so considering the times, but as Laodicea is this final church age, he would have us not be lukewarm.
As Solomon said "The Fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom."
These are the last days. It's time to wake up and come to Christ as completely as is possible, giving him our absolute best. Blessed is the servant who shall be found watching and waiting, as is the bride that prepares herself.
This world of convenience and delight has been building up a very dark and sinister side, its purpose is first to corrupt, and then to destroy, and yea, there will be tribulation as has never been seen before. The other shoe is about to drop.
While pastors today are giving sermons on Solomon and how to live, they ought be teaching how to live in the spirit and not follow after the flesh...
Christ offers us the very best, an escape from this insanity, eternal life, heaven, a place at his very throne, and also the very worst, eternal hellfire. He is by no means a license to sin, or one to be neglected, but to be perfected in love and give him our very best.
Consider that Jesus said (John 3:13) That no one ever went into heaven, except he that came down from heaven. (Jesus himself.) Yes Elijah and Enoch are notable exceptions.
Also consider that he said the least in heaven shall be greater then John the Baptist, who was called the very best. This is merely because he died before Christ became the sacrifice for our blessed atonement.
The point is, no one EVER comes to God except through Christ. There is no other name by which ALL men MUST be saved. Therefore the most logical conclusion is that, after some time in hell for some, everyone who does not hear of the gospel, including those prior to Christ, must be reborn into this world, but once they have accepted Christ the new dynamic, the new trial begins.
Or consider this: has there ever been any past life memory where the past life was Christian? I think not.
This is also a scary thought, because it means, the lake of fire will be entirely for those who reject Christ or that fail him. Those who still don't accept him or really know will probably be reborn during his 1000 year reign.
The same for babies and children. Clearly it is not fair to eternally condemn those who have not heard of Christ, nor is it fair to send them to heaven. Therefore the only conclusion that fits is for them to reborn. Make no mistake, when you preach the gospel, you are taking someone out of the rebirth dynamic, and putting them into a trial for eternal life.
The Gospel ought not be presented as "good news" but as an invitation onto persecution, self denial, and traveling the straight and narrow road. Not onto civilians who are all entitled heaven, but onto recruitment into Gods army "as good soldiers in Jesus Christ." For above all things God wants obedience first and foremost.
So the thing to us from the insanity of the world of the civilian world, is the army of complete and total peace. Folks, this is why they say truth is stranger then fiction.
Yes, his forgiveness is deep, but one should not test it, but endeavor to be perfected onto love.
