  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

When I read the Bible as a child, I simply could not reconcile it with the modern world. I begged God to be sent to the time it was written in, and wound up losing my life without actually finding it.

Let us consider the time of the Bible: people were serious. There was nothing fun to do. They lived shorter lives. Death, disease, and natural disasters were common. War was common. Lust and drunkenness were common. Work was simple, everyone in town knew one another. Customs were enforced and actually taken seriously. Things were simple and sure, language was less developed. There was but a single church.

Today there are hundreds of denominations, and many believe the Bible can be made to say anything one desires. The simple truth, has been complicated onto much confusion (aka babylon)

Did Christ abolish the law? Doesn't this make God into a hard nosed dictator, an insane [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] that died in order to contradict himself? Nah, but to be perfected onto Love and Salvation.

Christians: Christ, save us from God
Jews: God, save us from Christ
Atheists: just shoot me
Satanists: we're all going to the bad place, but we'll actually have fun.
Reincarnation: We learn lessons in life, to forget them and start all over again.
Cults: We have stupid unfounded ideas that usually end in suicide.
Occult: God hid the truth, so we should spend our whole lives finding it and then keep it to ourselves.

What Insanity!

Modern Christ: Believe and be worldly, don't even read your Bibles.
Old World Christ: I am Sparticus! You can be too.

Lets face it: modern culture does not submit to God. Not one person can say in his heart that sentencing any man to never-ending fire and torment is just. Not even his most devoted followers should want this to happen. Or look at how often a person was struck dead because of some seemingly minor disobedience. Uzzah, just for touching the ark of the covenant because he thought it would fall.

Now God is longsuffering, even in the old testament, more so where Christ is involved, and more so considering the times, but as Laodicea is this final church age, he would have us not be lukewarm.

As Solomon said "The Fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom."

These are the last days. It's time to wake up and come to Christ as completely as is possible, giving him our absolute best. Blessed is the servant who shall be found watching and waiting, as is the bride that prepares herself.

This world of convenience and delight has been building up a very dark and sinister side, its purpose is first to corrupt, and then to destroy, and yea, there will be tribulation as has never been seen before. The other shoe is about to drop.

While pastors today are giving sermons on Solomon and how to live, they ought be teaching how to live in the spirit and not follow after the flesh...

Christ offers us the very best, an escape from this insanity, eternal life, heaven, a place at his very throne, and also the very worst, eternal hellfire. He is by no means a license to sin, or one to be neglected, but to be perfected in love and give him our very best.

Consider that Jesus said (John 3:13) That no one ever went into heaven, except he that came down from heaven. (Jesus himself.) Yes Elijah and Enoch are notable exceptions.

Also consider that he said the least in heaven shall be greater then John the Baptist, who was called the very best. This is merely because he died before Christ became the sacrifice for our blessed atonement.

The point is, no one EVER comes to God except through Christ. There is no other name by which ALL men MUST be saved. Therefore the most logical conclusion is that, after some time in hell for some, everyone who does not hear of the gospel, including those prior to Christ, must be reborn into this world, but once they have accepted Christ the new dynamic, the new trial begins.

Or consider this: has there ever been any past life memory where the past life was Christian? I think not.

This is also a scary thought, because it means, the lake of fire will be entirely for those who reject Christ or that fail him. Those who still don't accept him or really know will probably be reborn during his 1000 year reign.

The same for babies and children. Clearly it is not fair to eternally condemn those who have not heard of Christ, nor is it fair to send them to heaven. Therefore the only conclusion that fits is for them to reborn. Make no mistake, when you preach the gospel, you are taking someone out of the rebirth dynamic, and putting them into a trial for eternal life.

The Gospel ought not be presented as "good news" but as an invitation onto persecution, self denial, and traveling the straight and narrow road. Not onto civilians who are all entitled heaven, but onto recruitment into Gods army "as good soldiers in Jesus Christ." For above all things God wants obedience first and foremost.

So the thing to us from the insanity of the world of the civilian world, is the army of complete and total peace. Folks, this is why they say truth is stranger then fiction.

Yes, his forgiveness is deep, but one should not test it, but endeavor to be perfected onto love.

I like to read your posts Crosssword. You seem to be deep thinker :) In some ways, we are still like the people who lived during Biblical times. I don't think life was simple during those times, not by a long shot. Life is still not simple today. Technology has been our lives run much more smoothly and faster but in my opinion, it has caused much trouble for people too.
When I read my Bible(I use a Study Bible too), I like to imagine myself living during those times. I almost feel like a bystander watching the story unfold.
I have no idea if we actually go to Heaven when we die. I just don't know. What happens to us in the meantime while we wait for Jesus to return? Are we just dead? Catholics believe in purgatory. Are we in purgatory?
I struggle with the flesh all the time. God knows our hearts but me thinks that is not enough :(

Well, I don't claim to know it all, I just see in all humility how we are all foolish in our own ways.

But I think there has got to be a rebirth. If people in the old testament could get to heaven then there would be no need of Christ. So what should a just God do for them and for babies and for everyone else who never heard the Gospel?

The most just and perfect answer is to reincarnate some of them, at least once or twice. I could easily be wrong, but I don't think God intended to hopeless condemn people, but to give everyone a chance at salvation.

"There is no other name under Heaven by which ALL men MUST be saved."
"For God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentence."

This is kept secret, but knowing it doesn't really do any good. It's better for Christians not to believe people are reborn who don't hear the gospel, that way they spread it more. Rebirth is not worth believing in, if it happens it happens.

Before I came to Christ I was reasearching reincarnation. But it's stupid. You just keep getting reborn and reborn, it never ends. If you want to stop, all those that believe in it propose that you've got to meditate yourself to annilation, exactly what the devil wants you to do, by promising you'll become a super spiritual person if you follow in his path. But that's really sleight of hand, when the answer is Jesus offering you ONE eternal life.
Which would you choose..annihilation, the endless cycle of rebirth or eternal life?

As for the psychics.. well, they are always talking to dead people who are involved with crime or accidents but were never saved. They go back trying to atone for their mistakes, never coming to understand that we can't do anything by ourselves - we need a saviour. Those who are saved or in heaven or awaiting resurrection into heaven on the last day of judgement. I'm not sure, but I've never heard of christians trying to contact a dead loved one because we are sure they are in heaven!
I think God is merciful, sometimes he takes the righteous early to spare them or teach others.
That's the nearest I get to understanding the whole picture, and why evil keeps getting perpetuated..and why we MUST spread the gospel to those who are lost to the furtherest ends of the earth. In heaven we are all going to be together and it will be joyous. In revelations it clearly says who will be kept out of heaven..the drunkards, the idolators, the unbelievers, the murderers, etc. Not those who are lost and just didn't hear the gospel. That's why the world hasn't ended yet, and those that thought Jesus was coming ever since he first came were wrong. Jesus is waiting for the right time. We are increasingly becoming globalised and dependent on each other and knowing other cultures, but evil is also increasing it's global outreach. That's a sign he wants all of us in heaven, what he created us for. The wheat and the tares, the harvest of souls. I hope to do my bit to spread the Word.

Agreed.

I don't like rebirth either, but it's better then total oblivion, or eternal torment. That the spirit returns to God and may be used to become someone else would be an act of mercy.

The first Adam brought us into the way of death, the second brings us out of it. In the very end death shall be swallowed up in victory. Now God is love, but we are sinners. Furthermore he is GOD and can do whatever he will with us, but if God is not perfectly righteous then he would just be another tyrant. Nah, he is righteous and so we must we become, in our perfecting walk with Christ. There is no offer of salvation for those who do not OBEY his commandments, but there is forgiveness with repentance and earnest effort to submit to him.

What a sad, war torn world, saddest of all perhaps are those who kill themselves. That their anguish is so great they would willingly choose death, when through Christ their great suffering would actually benefit them onto eternal life.

The way of this world is corruption, followed by death. In the 6000 years of recorded history there have been 14531 wars fought, according to a computer that has counted them all. These are just known wars, and do not include terrorism and suicide bombings.

This series, along with the videos on rome and the mark of the beast, reveal just how much war death and destruction there really is.

Hold it right there. Crossword, do you know what it means to be born again?
When you are born again, you are saved, set apart. You are a NEW creature in Christ. And this life you now have is ETERNAL. That means the Holy Spirit is with you and your walk with Christ is easy. Your past sins are paid in FULL. You don't have to keep battling your sinful nature because it no longer is there! There will be what used to be temptations but these won't even tempt you! There are two commandments Jesus said for us to obey -love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind and strength and love your neighbour as yourselves. Or as John put it 'love one another'.

Jesus said I have come so that you may have life. Because I live, you will live too. And that promise is starts right from the moment you are saved - you don't have to wait until you die to experience eternal life, or wait and be good until the 'rapture'! . Remember Paul, he was a murderer, but Jesus saved him and he was born again..his sins were paid for by the cross. Jesus offers salvation for EVERYONE who believes in him, not to people who just obeyed all the commandments. We cannot earn our salvation. After we are born again we can obey his commandments by writing the laws on our hearts, for the Lord gives us a NEW heart.

On the last day all souls will be judged. Those that died unrepentant in their sins or still sinning will be sent to hell. Don't worry about them - trust that God will do what's right. You are not God, you don't know what's in people's hearts and you are not in a position to judge who ends up where.

Can I ask.. you are not by chance attending an SDA church? It just seems your posts are a bit confusing and overly concerned with the end of the world thats all. What makes you so sure it's imminent? We are not to know the time or place, even Jesus admitted he didn't know, only God knows.

And there is something wrong here. Its not Christians - Christ, save us from God. NO! God loves us. Its Jesus, who save us from OUR sins, so that we may be holy and acceptable when we meet God on judgment day.

Make no mistake, when you are born again, through water and spirit YOU WILL GO TO HEAVEN. All you must do is admit to God you are a sinner, that you believe Jesus died for YOUR sins (no matter how bad they were) that Jesus can save you and thank him for giving you the gift of eternal life. Ask Jesus into your life right now.

You don't need works to be saved..just believing in Jesus!

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."

Elijah and Enoch will come back and die in the end time to fulfill the prophetic that all will die a fleshly death. The two prophets in revelation.

Hebrews 9:27-28 And just as it is appointed for mortals to die once, and after that the judgment, so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin, but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.

There will be an exception, a mystery explained:

I Corinthians 15:26 “The last enemy that will be abolished is death.”

I Cor 15:50-57 “My friends, I want you to know that our bodies of flesh and blood will decay. This means that they cannot share in Gods kingdom, which lasts forever. 51 I will explain a mystery to you. Not every one of us will die, but we will all be changed. 52 It will happen suddenly, quicker than the blink of an eye. At the sound of the last trumpet the dead will be raised. We will all be changed, so that we will never die again.”

I take this to mean - up to the point of the sound of the last trumpet, Heb 9:27-28 is the standard. Is that the way you see it?
