  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Slippery Snake Cake
2 baked ring or Bundt cakes...
Cut the rings in half and arrange them in a slithery pattern, frosting them together.
Carve a little cake off the sides of the nose, then frost the entire snake green.
Add black licorice ball eyes and red licorice tongue.

Aquarium Jello
Use a new or well cleaned goldfish bowl. In the bottom place Jelly Belly beans that look like rocks. Mix up as much blue Jello as your bowl will hold. Mix using ice cubes & cold water instead of the cold water called for on the box. Pour this into the bowl over a knife blade or something to keep from disturbing the gravel. If you want it to have 'seaweed', poke a couple of pieces of purple endive, parsley or something similar down into the gravel. When the whole thing starts to jell, use a wooden skewer to push gummy fish into different parts of the bowl. For an added touch, include plastic ships, divers and treasure chests.

Hey! Reminds me of

mock apple pie

It was always on the Ritz box; uses Ritz crackers instead of apples, and my goodness, our Home Ec teacher said you couldn't tell the difference! The magic of modern kitchen science . . .
