Autumn's breath has tinged the trees
And cooled late summer's dry hot breeze,
It seems I blinked and glossy green
So quickly changed its youthful sheen
To yet a wiser golden hue
Creating one last splendid view.
How can a season end so fast?
How can such majesty not last
Beyond a matter of mere weeks?
Oh God so plainly Autumn speaks
That life is fleeting, frail, and brief
And not unlike the fading leaf
Or the morning's misty haze
Soon disappeared, so too our days.
Ps. 90:12 So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
