• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I promised a friend of mine that I would take all the info he gave me and start this post. My friend's son is autistic, a couple of years ago, at the age of 5, he couldn't feel pain, hot or cold, couldn't talk, look you in the eye, and would watch the same video over and over. After chelating with his son, using Andrew Cutler's protocol, his son now 7 can speak, tell jokes, laugh, feel pain, in other words he's getting better, why, because of the vaccinations he recieved, my friend is removing the mercury and getting his son back. Research done by drug companies are going to show no correlation between the two, and there are still vaccines out there that contain thimerosal, but people are starting to wise up, and some drug companies now make thimerosal free vaccines, and they shipped the other vaccines to 3rd world countries. Drug companies are still putting mercury in flu shots and other shots, but you can request mercury free shots and that;s the truth. There is also mercury in tooth amalgams, and some states have banned them, why, beause they are finding they can cause health related disorders. I'm not here to debate anything.

My friend's have went through a lot. They have been rejected by their friends, church and society for having an autistic kid, having to watch their kid 24 hours a day, etc. I don't pretend to know what it's like, but I do know the pain he faces, that's why the thread was started, point blank. I know my heart and God knows my heart, that's really all that counts.

I myself suffer from Autism but it is not really noticeable since I have learned to live with it all my life. Growing up I had a real problem being social because of it, and I had a learning disability which keeps me from learning like everyone else, specialy things I must read. I have learned that if I try as hard as I can then I myself can get things done with the same effort that other people can do with very little. Also growing up wit it, it gave me a high function brain when it comes to math and such which it also takes away from my reading. I am contently thinking about everything even when I should be thinking about something else, or just one thing. These days I am a honor student but its only because of al the hard work that I must put in and it gets vert frustrating most of the time. Though I mabe this way, but I am far from normal.:)

If only there were more support for people with autism and their families. Both in society in general, and at Church, etc too. :( :sigh:

I am always interested in people's opinions since I am a parent of an autistic but I have been reading more and more that we may never really know all the reasons.

I put mine through the detox therapy. It worked awhile but while I say worked my child is just growing out of things and with age autism either progresses to mild emotional problems or they remain. mine is maturing. still see many forms but not as severe.

Is anyone attending the conference this Aug. in Atlanta? Nov 8th-11th.

i haven't heard yet that american doctors are savvy, nor whether they
are telling, or if they are allowed to tell, what is known.

That's funny because my son struggles with math and used to be a big reader before video games became all-important. My dd who has asperger-like tendencies is a voracious reader.

Interesting-population control. Sounds like a topic for a book.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment is being used for brain damage/autism. I'll post again later.Getting a web page up for him(son).

WASHINGTON, DC - In the May 2007 issue of the Journal of Maternal-
Fetal and Neonatal Medicine
( http://www.informaworld.com/smpp/content~content=a778637558~db=all~or
der=page), the official journal of the European Association of
Perinatal Medicine, the Federation of Asia and Oceania and Perinatal
Societies, and the International Society of Perinatal Obstetricians,
a new study, "A Prospective Study of Thimerosal-Containing Rho(D)-
Immune Globulin Administration as a Risk Factor for Autistic
Disorders," was published by Dr. Mark R. Geier (President, the
Genetic Centers of America) and David A. Geier (Vice-President, the
Institute of Chronic Illnesses). This new study shows that
administration of Thimerosal-preserved Rho(D)-immune g lobulin
preparations during pregnancy significantly increases the risk for
offspring developing autistic disorders. This finding is consistent
with previously published research by Dr. Amy Holmes, Mark Blaxill,
and Dr. Boyd Haley in the International Journal of Toxicology (2003),
and refutes the recent study funded by Johnson & Johnson (a maker of
Rho(D)-immune globulins) that failed to find an association between
Thimerosal-preserved Rho(D)-immune globulins and autistic disorders.

Since the late 1980s, Rho(D)-immune globulin preparations have been
routinely administered to Rh-negative women in the US during
pregnancy at 28 weeks gestation, a prenatal period corresponding to
damage occurring in the fetal brain, that has been associated with
autistic disorders. Unfortunately, until 2001, some formulations of
Rho(D)-immune globulins manufactured for the US market contained
Thimerosal, a mercury-containing compound (49.6% mercury by weight).
As a result, administration of Thimerosal-preserved Rho(D)-immune
globulins exposed Rh-negative pregnant women to bolus doses of
mercury ranging from 10.5 t o greater than 30 micrograms mercury per
administration at critical prenatal developmental periods. In some
cases, Rh-negative women received several Rho(D)-immune globulins
during their pregnancy. In addition, if the fetus was Rh-positive,
the mother was administered another Rho(D)-immune globulin after
birth. When that infant was breastfed, then, that infant would
receive another significant mercury exposure.

In this new study, the researchers examined a total of 53 non-Jewish
Caucasian patients with a diagnosis of an autistic spectrum disorder
(ASD), born from 1987 through 2001, who prospectively presented to
the Genetic Centers of America for outpatient genetic/developmental
evaluations from June 1, 2005 through March 31, 2006. Imaging and
laboratory testing were conducted to rule-out other causal factors
for their ASDs. As race-matched controls, the frequency of Rh-
negativity was determined from 926 non-Jewish Caucasian pregnant
women who presented for outpatient prenatal genetics care to the
Genetic Centers of America between 1980 and 1989. Children with a
diagnosis of an ASD were more than twice as likely to have an Rh-
negative mo ther than the controls. Each ASD patient with an Rh-
negative mother was administered a Thimerosal-preserved Rho(D)-immune
globulin during her pregnancy. These researchers concluded that their
results provide insights into the causal role prenatal mercury
exposure may play in some children diagnosed with autistic disorders.

Note: For those who wishing to confirm, whether or not, their child
is mercury poisoned, they may want to have a urine porphyrin profile
analysis (UPAA) test done. For more information, visit the Coalition
for Mercury-free Drugs (CoMeD)'s web site:
