authors not mentioned from pulpit?

I've noticed that adventist pastors don't always mention the name of an author that they quote from the pulpit, but they make sure they say who wrote it when they quote from Ellen G. White's writings...

I don't see the difference? There are lots of inspired authors out there, and everyone has different degrees of light, so I don't think it's wrong to mention their names.

Because since most people don't read and those that do read do read EGW they are more likely to know her than the others.

There is no evidence that other writers were inspired by God. There is plenty of evidence that EGW was.

The key words are "no proof." It is the critics of EGW who claimed that they weren't inspired at all. EGW was told that she would find "gems" amongst the writers she was directed to read.

Our pastor mentions names of other authors. That's how I became aware of H.M.S. Richards and several other fantastic Adventist authors.

Right now I have too many books to read in one summer!
