It has been brought to the staff's attention that sometimes members who are in some way "different" than others are asked to leave Christian Forums as they were not welcome here.

On behalf of the staff, I would like to state that this is not true.

As we welcome both Christian and non-Christian alike, we also welcome members with any sort of disability.

If anyone is ever asked to leave Christian Forums because they have a particular disability, please inform a staff member immediately so that we may deal with the situation.

If you do not have a particular disability, but are made aware of a situation as was described, please also feel free to come to staff to let us know.

I hope whoever asked them to leave, sees this thread.

The deaf community can feel very threatened amongst hearing people, and the internet is a fantastic way for them to learn, and to socialise, outside the deaf community.

threatened....yea i guess. but we get to the point that we really dont care what hearing/Hearing people think. at least i dont. my whole family is Hearing and well...yea i don't care anymore.

I can socialize just fine with my friends without a computer, thank you, the computer is just an added bonus.

excuse my ignorance, but why would someone with a hearing impairment have any trouble accessing this website. the only sound i hear when i'm here is the sound of my keyboard clicking and the music in the background that i have playing.

i dont know. maybe if someone was to post a video like that 'fellowship of the bears' thing. that isn't captioned i dont think.

I think they arent necassarily talking about THIS website, but websites in general. and maybe accessiblity in general, not just for deaf/Deaf/hh people.

No sethad, people on CF have asked deaf people to leave this Forum. NO person has the right to do that to another. Nobody. CF welcomes everyone and there is a special Forum for the hearing impaired who have learned to type by braille.
I only hope the person/ persons who did that to one lovely little deaf girl who contacted me reads this thread. And all the others.

uh...i think you misread.

I KNOW someone actually did that. I already said it was wrong. and I'm Deaf, but didn't get the post asking deaf/Deaf/hh people to leave because I just joined today.

deaf/Deaf/hh people dont use braille, blind people do, and people who are deaf and blind. I can see fine, I'm not blind.

And if I didn't acknowledge the fact, would any of you have known? I doubt it. And if anyone asks me to leave because of it, you're going to get a real fight on your hands. And I will be fighting for anyone who I find has been asked to leave for any reason that resembles any type of physical discrimination.

Discrimination of any sort is a sin. And whoever asked anyone to leave this site because of any sort of disability shouold be ashamed of themselves. I pray when you get older, and your hearing, or eye sight starts failing, you don't get asked to leave someplace you thought you were welcomed.

WHY were they asked to leave?

Because of their disability? - That would be wrong!
Because of their posting style? - Would depend on their style
Because of their expressed views? - Would depend how they expressed theri views.

These were too humble to fight. They were too used to being discriminated against krst. Their only crime was that they were deaf. There was nothing wrong with posting styles. They had never violated a rule. They were told to leave because they were deaf.

We not make big argument here. Deaf language culture different hearing.

Sometimes hearing person interpret wrong deaf person.
Deaf English different hearing, deaf English like sign. Person asked deaf to leave - misunderstanding maybe, if all deaf people know welcome, all ok.
