ATonement?

I agree, most protestants do beleive in a role for Satan. Yet, he is absengt from any mention in most core doctrines and is completely absent in a explaination of what was accomplished in the death and ressurection of Jesus.

Why should satan be referred to what we talk about what God achieved through the Messiah Jesus? satan did make an attempt to sabotage the Messiah's mission when he tried to bribe Jesus with the kingdoms of the world. But why should we focus on satan and his deceptive dealings? We focus on the Good acts of God and they are at the core of our faith.

Yet, when a bad guy is needed, Satan shows up provoking sin and having some part of the ressurection story. This Satan being defeated thing is inconsistent with the traditional protestant view of atonement.

How is satans defeat inconsistent with the Atonement won by Jesus? Please expand on this point.
