No, you misunderstand again, religion is the quest for truth on all levels. Atheism believes that religion is a fantasy, the imagination of billions of other people for ages upon ages. So the Atheist is in a negative pursuit of potential errors or inconsistencies in the religionist explanation of his or her faith in order to prove their own faith in their own doubts.

In evolution, might didn't make right, it made what is. But another influence began to assert itself within the sociological evolution of will conscious man, Love and its derivatives. This development was universal, across all cultures. In religion we believe this was the emergence of minds ability to respond to spiritual gravity, the capacity for receptivity of spiritual truth.

Atheists seem to be arguing that mankind has contracted a virus in its interpretive response to this spiritual gravity that we call God.

I still reckon if we bring back Woodstock it will get the spiritual juices running. I think humans have had he ability to look to the heavens and wonder whats out there. Whether it be aliens, fairies, Ghosts or gods man has this inclination to think that there is something out there. Its almost a built in thing and its as though he sort of knows there is something but then we try to put all these different explanations to it. Even a native cut off from civilization will look to the skies and wonder. I believe its more than a mental thing. Its like our spirits are in tune with a bigger spirit world and we are trying to phone home like ET.

No, atheists are generally involved in a positive pursuit of truth at all levels. But searching for truth means that errors will be exposed, and atheists find some of those errors in religious worldviews.

I have no time to waste "proving faith in my own doubts" any more than I hope you debate atheists simply to prop up your own lack of faith.

You are conflating atheism with nihilism, again.

I highly doubt religion is maintained solely for the desire of an "easy out". Heck, not every religion offers some reward for belief or even an afterlife, but some of those sorts of religions still have a modern following.

It's not about a reward for belief or an afterlife, it's for answers to lifes really, really hard questions. Like, why are we here? What is the purpose of our existence? What is morally right or wrong? What are morals in the first place?

And, most importantly, who should I despise?

I think there is a whole lot of people who cant do that either and there is no religion involved at all. Take a look at who is running our countries to start with. Take a look at the life problems billions are having with drugs, suicide, family breakups, crime, polluting and destroying our planet ect. I dont think people are solving life problems with or without religion anyway.

They don't, but they feel like it.

Also, on an aside note, the number of country leaders who are openly atheistic is very, very low. I think people in tthe USA would rather vote for a serial murderer who has accepted Jesus as his savior than for an atheist philantropist.

Yes, I do seek all truth. However, I am also an atheist in that I see no good reason to believe in the existence of any divine beings. I have drawn conclusions, as anyone else does, but that doesn't mean that the conclusions are final. There is no contradiction there.

Speaking for myself, after I met God in my spiritual rebirth, I will spend the rest of my life here AND hereafter getting to know God better, becoming more like God. This will entail a constant readjustment in the limited concepts that I have in my finite mind about God, reality and the material universe.

I took your word for it, because I get that a lot from Atheist, they talk all this high minded idealism about truth seeking and critical thought.....but its obvious that they have already made up their minds before all the evidence is in.
