Atheists on this board

isn't it interesting that there are so many atheists on this Christian board? It's kind of like there is nowhere else for them to go so might as well hang out with the Jesus freaks. It's that or they are actually still searching and they desire to believe. Just too proud to admit it.

I pray for all of you that the Lord will show you the way to walk with Him.

I think that this is a board that accepts and loves them...doesn't ban them at the first disagreement they have with us. May God bless them and show us how to love and minister to them.

Careful, it is a kind of pride that says that other people must secretly desire one's own worldview.

Hi eggplant, it has been my experince that humans are hopelessly religious. If you believe God is or you feel that He isn't does not change your enless search for "A" truth. We also have a need to belong to something. If we admit it or not this is something that comes from with in, like our need to be free or be loved.

Or maybe that they have answered the question "why are you here" many many times in the past, and someone would rather make up their own conclusion than going and searching for the real answer.

Why are you here in the Non-christian religion section? It's kind of like you have no where else to go, maybe you are still searching for the right religion and are just too proud to admit it.

If it was just that they could go to Islamic or Hindu sites. I think it's human nature to want to believe in a being greater than ourselves. You never know why people come here and maybe they don't either.

What is the largest religion in the us?
What is the religion that has the most effect on many atheists (especially in the US) lives?
What is the religion that has the most controling power?
The answer to these questions might explain something. Remember, we are afterall in the debate section.

A question to you, should we assume that the majority of christians who post in the non christian forum are here because they feel in their heart jesus is not the way?

I can not speak for why atheists are here but I came to this forum because it was recommended to me as a place where people of many faiths discuss, share, compare and learn.

It is indeed such a place.

But it is also a place where people dispute, disrespect, and denigrate.

I am not hasty in writing off a community especially when it was recommended by someone whose opinion I value highly. So I am still here looking for the discussion and learning and trying to ignore or ameliorate the disputation.

I think it's great that atheists and other non-Christians are welcome here. Other Christian message boards I've been to ban non-Christians, or strongly restricts what they may post about. This is the only Christian message board I know of that lets non-Christians post and debate.

Reading the debates on here between Christians and non-Christians have actually made me grow stronger in my faith, and I hope it's helped others, as well.

I come here because I prefer it to a board where everyone is the same religion as me and all we do is sit around patting ourselves on the back talking about how right we are. This is one of the few christian (or otherwise) websites I have found where you can freely talk about most things. Also because I grew tired of the deoxy web boards (bunch of nuts over there, just try to have an intelligent debate over there ).
