Welcome and I hope you find meaning and purpose in life. Besides finding this in my Christian faith, I have found that kind of thing in philosophy especially with Stoicism, Existentialism and even Taoism. I also found YouTube has a lot of good stuff on that I watch or listen to (in my younger years I use to check out books from the library on that sort of thing).

Your purpose is to ultimately be in the family of God. You were born by the desire of God. He planned your existence before you.

Know this, that God creates the atheist and the believer. For nobody can believe but give them belief, therefore, any unbeliever are those that God hasn't revealed Himself to. God ultimately brings all into the Family of God in due time. But some must be CHOSEN first to administer with the Lord at His Coming when the rest of mankind will then be reconciled to God. Many will pay for their sins and many shall receive Mercy.

I would implore you to discover the character and nature of Jesus Christ and see His Fairness and Love towards the sinner of which we all are. If it doesn't bring you hope and purpose then you will have more awareness of your place.

I'm glad to hear you ask the question, because God promises those who seek shall find, those who ask will receive, and for those who knock, the door will be opened. Our purpose in life is to have fellowship with God, but because we all sin, we fall short of that purpose. But God sent His son, Jesus, to redeem us from sin and save us from death, so that original purpose can be restored. The mere acknowledgment of the above, and the trust that He will raise us from the dead is sufficient belief to start your relationship with God.

You will find that having nominated yourself as an atheist there is a fair amount of the forum that is off limits to you. You'll be free to join in the more secular sections but areas dedicated to theology etc aren't available to you. Nevertheless, I'm sure you'll receive plenty of well intentioned advice if you think you need it. And plenty if you think you don't...

Keep an open mind, join in the discussions and give some thought to the arguments put forward. There's nothing like putting your own views across to clarify your own thoughts.

If there is no God, I would agree that meaning should be sought apart from God, but there is no meaning to be found except to keep assuring oneself that there is no God.
If God made us, would you agree that we should search for meaning from God?
In either case, shouldn't one try to find out?

I have seen Jesus and god like Bible says during 3 day overnight. Revelation 1:14 & 3:21 if you want to take my word it is real.

Evidence for a God:

1) formal logic proof of God by famous mathematician that has been verified on a computer

2) simulation theory would make anything possible. Some have interpreted Bible as saying we are created in God’a imagination (Bible says “image” which is the root of imagination) which I think is like what Hindus say about Brahma and you might compare this to simulation theory in modern terms.

3) astral projection, near death experiences, shared death experiences are all evidence you’re more than physical body. Also see the countless examples of people experiencing God and supernatural stuff like I have. They’re not all lying or crazy.

4) good versus evil: why society tries to corrupt us with immorality, sex, drugs/alcohol, violence, etc. and even to the point where satanism is now being promoted in media.
