If you guys can not make up you minds as to what you believe, then why should I talk to you. There is no in-between.

In regards to:

Gnosticism and agnosticism are to do with whether we can, potentially, know whether or not God exists. It has nothing to do with whether or not the individual does believe God exists.

Agnosticism is not about belief in god but about knowledge

Actually, it's a belief that it's impossible to know.

Ok, is it just me or is this one of the rare times that people have actually agreed with each other over the definition of a word? And he still tries and claim that we gave him differing views. I just don't think we're going to get through to this guy if he can't read past "...it's a belief..." and "...it's not a belief...".

RE = "again" but doesn't have to be translated so we can just drop that.
LIGARE = to relate, to connect with.

so religare means to connect a thing to something else.

for a religion, the "thing" is pretty much everything: our life, our world, all the people, the meaning of our existence, everything, ... and it is connected to, for example, a transcendent deity.

so if we go back to the very first and original meaning of the word "religion", then no, atheism isnt a religion, because we dont relate everything to a God.
