Npetreley, let's look at this from the other side.
You obviously disagree with my statement that concepts such as morality, democracy--language could be included here, even---exist outside human thought. Let's explore that and see where it leads, using the npetreley method of reasoning.
Morality exists independently of humans to come up with moral concepts, is the position of npetreley.
Is morality floating around in the air? Does it come to us riding on light beams? Or does your god, who perhaps conceptualizes it itself,--does he beam these concepts telepathically into the brains of humans?
The existence of morals among non-Christians and non-theists proves that it is not being taught by the Bible.
Therefore, to use npetreley's logic, the Christian worldview is that not only are humans depraved and evil by nature, they are also incredibly stupid. They cannot fathom, left to their own devices, either individually or as a society , even over thousands of years, that murder is wrong.
Apparently, humanity is evil, moronic, and more or less a bunch of mindless robots, waiting to be programmed with god's concepts, since that is where all ideas originate. Thomas Jefferson and the other founding fathers obviously couldn't have created the idea of a democracy based on an understanding of past human concepts such as freedom of individuals--no, since concepts exist OUTSIDE any human's brain, they were simply innoculated with the concept by some supernatural creature.
The Bible teaches --if you read it literally---that language was created by a god. LInguistsics and language deveopment is far beyond the ability of mere stupid humans. Such abstract ideas and symbolism MUST be floating out there in the ether, waiting for humans to absorb it by osmosis.
Tell me, npetreley, do you think any idea YOU have ever had really originated in YOUR head? What makes you think YOU have ever had a concept of your own, given that your worldview says concepts come from something outside of human thought?
