  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My kids are 5 and 6 and can use pens/pencils properly but they still put them in their mouths...I used to have pens in my mouth till I was a teenager but to this day I have to have something in my mouth or I'm not happy or able to concentrate (I should buy stock in the gum companies LOL).

I'm not sure. My son is 7 and still bites the eraser off his pencils. Drives me nuts. I don't remember my daughter ever doing it even when she was very small. I used to bite the middle of my pencils until about 4th grade. That would have made me 10 or so. I'm like birbitt though, I like to chew gum and should seriously consider some Wrigley's stock options.

My kids don't chew on their pens and pencils either. I do wish I knew how to get them to keep pens and pencils on the table when doing homework though. Annoying. I sit down to help with homework and it's interrupted 5 times because they let their pencil roll onto the floor and under the radiator and then the lead breaks, etc... Did I mention annoying?
