Are you quite certain that you want to tie yourself to that flame, MeekOne?

1 Thessalonians 5:19-20 (New International Version)
"Do not put out the Spirit's fire; do not treat prophecies with contempt."

As you can read... The Holy Spirit will use certain believers in ways that another can misconstrue as being a flame. And wish to extinguish the flame which is good.

The Truth will be that way at times. God is not working through men to please your sensibilities when the Truth will cut as it should. That is why moderators can easily abuse their authority and , in truth, condemn the actions of The Spirit, calling it un-Christianlike, because their sensibilities were offended.

I can not even see how being straight forward and to the point, is flaming. Its anti-PC. Yes. But, not flaming when its truth.

Committees vote out the Holy Spirit so their preferences which are dictated by their personal preferences can be raised up in self satisfaction.

2 Timothy 4:3 (New International Version)
"For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear."

Ever read saint Stephen's words before his accusers? That was the Holy Spirit flaming them with Truth. Did Stephen have a choice in the matter? Yes.... But he chose God.

Galatians 1:10 (New International Version)
"Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ."

This is supposed to be a Christian forum. All kinds of Christians come here. Some are Spirit filled. Others - - are filled with themselves. .
That's the real conflict here.

In Christ, GeneZ

Passion should not be squelched....remember Passion of the Christ.

I must have missed the verses in which Jesus was yelling insults at the people below Him. Seems, I remember, "Father, Forgive them for they know not what they do."

This thread is veering too far into personal remarks again. Please focus your replies on the content of the post, not the attributes of the person who made the post.

That's a load of bunk, pal. And just because I said it like that doesn't mean I'm any less a Christian. No one is going to change your mind but you obviously. You have your mind set on coming into a Christian forum and creating havoc, chaos, and try to dehumanize any Christian that stands up to you. I have already tried to explain it nicely, but you know you are determined to try to upset people like myself. I'm not falling into your web of deceit, I explained my opinion very clearly. I cannot see CF being run by non-believers. If this is to actually happen, and if Erwin were actually to let it happen, it does deserve to be named something else and then Christians can go to real Christian sites again, I would be just be another one of them.

There is a 24 hour moratorium being placed on this thread to let tempers cool and allow the staff to assess the number of ad hominem remarks being thrown about.

Why would a 'true Christian' want to vote anything but option 1 - to outreach?
For a 'true Christian' option 2 is an oxymoron.
I'm glad to hear my eternal destination rests in my vote on an internet poll.

Cut her a break. She is new... Let's ease her into the chaos and confusion...

Hi! Welcome to Christian Forums. We are in a bit of chaos right now. If you do not know what is going on (and I am assuming you are not a sock), the owner of the site "gave" the site to the members. It is now up to us to make all of the rules, so things have been a little crazy around here.

However, one thing that will always get someone's dander up around here is saying what is a "true" Christian. This is a large site with many varying beliefs. Just about the only thing that many of us have in common is the belief that salvation is through Christ alone, and there may be some who even would qualify that!

So, enjoy the site, but I would look around a bit and test the waters before announcing or pronouncing anyone as not a "true" Christian.

Let me know if you ever have any questions.

It was the intent of the one God that we be a Light to the Nations! Go into all the Nations and teach the "Good News" he had no intent for us to huddle inside fortresses and sing to the choir.

I was barred from all but [open] forums, I am no threat to God's Word!

I have praised God and openly thanked Dr. Loh for his hearing the word.

Agree, I think this shouls still be a christian site. I personally feel if we choose option 1 we would be heading down the road of this not being a christian site just only a fellowship site instead of both being a fellowship and christian site. I would hate to see this site turn to not being a christian one.It was one of the main reasons I came. I have been on this site and more deciated to this site than any other ones I have been on. I love christian forums and I hope it stays a christian forums.

I think it kind of should go back the other way it use to be but a majority of the community should agree to reach out to the non-christians more than they have before.

Support team, just an FYI. CLosing a thread doesn't really work.

I put a note in the support team HQ that this thread wasn't really closing.

I'd like to add my voice to those objecting to the poll. It is flawed, both in it's underlying assumptions and the choices. I feel the current version of CF needs more chance to mature and possible better guidelines set up for the Wikis and voting.

I voted for Option Two

I'd like to see CF return to the officially STATED mission statement, purpose and goal of the website/ministry, and reject the replaced purpose of enforcing political correctness, dividing and pigeon holing Christians, and stopping open discussion of the issues where consensus/unity do not yet exist.

Erwin had the right idea. He gave away the site to those who didn't and don't share it. He needs to take it back.
