I used to go by Astrological compatibility and Natal Charts until I heard it was all the Devils work...
*I just wanna know, how is it the Devils work since God created the stars?
I have to admit, Astrology did start depressing me especially when I did the Compatibility. You know, whether or not you have affinity with a certain person or not...
and when I would find out we weren't compatible but he was more compatible with another person, yeah it would steal my hope.
So I stopped not just for God but for myself.
But I still can't help but go by it sometimes. I mean some of it can be amazingly true and I hate that. Apparently Astrology isn't all that bad since some people claim it helps them with relationships and such...
*So why is Astrology bad and not accepted by God since it has some good benefits to it?
I guess the people that believed in it all are lucky and I was the unlucky one.

It is bad in that we are to put our hope in God, not celestial bodies and superstition. If we are looking to such things for guidance, we are not looking to God or, at the very least, it detracts from our reliance on God.

Yes, God made the stars but not for the purposes of divination. It is to him we look for guidance otherwise we are guilty of idolatry and putting something else in the place of God.

Astrology has very little to do with the stars -- it applies meaning where meaning is not clearly evident. Astrologers might work up complex systems of interesting parallels, and some might seem to coincide perfectly with your life. But if the astrological systems are true, then your life is completely predetermined. The stars declare what you're going to do the next day, if you were to take astrology to the extremes.

That puts you in a victim position. It also puts an astrologer in control of your life. A corrupt person could step in, and tell you what to do, and you might do it. Most astrology words for the day are like "avoid dangerous situations today... take more risks today." Just nice confirmations of what you might already do or know. But if you obsess, then you control your day over what a stranger put in the newspaper.

Some people might argue that following leadings from God might be the same. But when God leads, it is very specific to your situation. It is informed preparation, not systematic. Compare God to a supercomputer, that is aware of every situation on earth. With this knowledge, He can put together needs with resources, anticipate the consequences of people's plans, see dangers ahead.

Then He will hint to us that a different course of action would be wise. We sense it, act how we feel is sensible (or not) with the information given, and then appreciate the tip.

If we were to scramble that with a regimented system that does not depend on knowledge of personal situations, then we become victims. God works with knowledge, and our best interests at heart. We don't have to follow His guidance, but when we do we understand why He said it.

Even if a believer does not hear from God, and relies on the systems in the Bible, the scriptures are written with sensibility in mind. They are not random, but direct people and communities toward better lives.

There are fascinating coincidences in astrology, but if you direct your whole life over fascinating coincidences, you might find yourself in a dark alley with a rabid dog. (Who was also a Sagittarius.)

Plan your course wisely.

Behind astrology and births signs etc., etc., is the powers of darkness, and those beings behind the powers of darkness will make things happen. And if it comes true, then you will fall to the "wiles of the enemy" and the"roaring lion will devour your".

Get into His Word and then you will reap HIS PROMISES, and not some promises from the powers of darkness.

If you truly think that Astrology has anything to do with the stars really, then perhaps what I'm going to share with you might be surprising or even shocking to you. It has more to do with people trying to divine the future by either giving general answers tailored for specific people to make them feel special, and for the Astrologer to make money off of someone, and/or the Astrologers themselves are getting their special powers of perception from the invisible spiritual world. The types of spirits who would feed out tidbits of possibly real and utterly futile information that gives no glory to God are out to deceive these people to make sure that whole no glory to God thing continues. These spirits are generally called demons.

You don't need their rubbish. Chuck the star charts and the Astrologers who are deceived by deceiving spirits that want to draw others into that misery loving web of deception, and give glory to God to get you through the day. No matter what happens, good, bad, without knowing your future- Glory to God for all things!

I think the star reading is in similar category as divination and witchcraft and sorcery and interpretation of omens, and tarot cards and wigi board...

I think that all these things are usually related to communing with demon spirits (and I guess that's why it would be detestable to the Lord)
It's a spirit world, of which we know nothing about, nor its dangers. Perhaps reading the stars is a very mild form of it, but it's in the same class.

Well, The Lord does not want His children to believe that the stars have any link to the future or their lives. He wants us to realise that only Him can save us, and that God is in full and absolute control of our destiny. The stars are merely a creation of the Creator. Astrology is only man's folly.

Oh my. I'm new but what the heck. There can be Good out of Evil. Well God Created it all, duh LOL!

Devils work is the unhappiness. Certainly not Gods LOL!

Maybe stop and just let go. Give yourself to God. Oh, astrology is not accepted because it is worshiping false idols. Please do NOT say to me you are "happy" after that post. Do you really think that maybe a Virgo could re organize your life?? Nope.

It's almost like getting back to arranged marriages. If you want the freedom to decide for yourself who you're compatible with, then you don't need another boss telling you not to go out with people for random reasons.

Compatibility -- if astrology told you that everyone born within a certain month or date span is compatible with you, then 1/12 of all the people would work. And you know that's not true. There are mass murderers mixed in.

And what if you are truly in love with someone from the wrong month? You should direct your life wisely. Commitment to a person impacts your entire life. It's fun to play around with dating games like that, but to take it seriously would be so-o risky.

You wouldn't want people who don't know you, to declare that you have a similar personality to 1/12 of the people in the world, just because of the date you were born. It is so depersonalizing.

Astrology sets out to appear very personal, but in the end it just lumps us into the masses. You and 1/12 of the world are reading the same advice for the day.

God says every hair on your head is numbered. One is different from two, is different from three. Every person has talents, and different gifts from the Holy Spirit, and different callings. Each of us has a different relationship with God, depending on our approaches and personalities.

God has a history of calling people out individually. Moses and Paul heard God speak, just to them. People in remote jungles have appearances from angels. God continues to work one on one, not just in groups.

The stars were indeed created by God, but it is our false and prideful interpretation of them that leads to sorrow and evil. Even His greatest works can be turned against us in the hands of evil - but he has given us light, and faith, and grace to hold true to Him.

Faith in the Lord gives us our happiness and salvation, faith in worldly "systems" leads only to disappointment at best.

Astrological interpretations are merely another form of divination, an occultic practice. It's no different (spiritually) than going to a psychic and having your fortune told. God really frowns on these things.

Astrology is not only forbidden to Christians, it doesn't really work.

Well yes, but a lot of systems in the world are true. People have spent a lot of time and effort working them out until they make sense.

Think of how most religions have established a list of rights and wrongs, ways to deal with people in community, ways to own spirituality for oneself, ways to hear from supernatural sources. People head in different directions, then settle back to similar conclusions.

I think we all agree that what the Devil does is try to make a Counterfeit of what God has done.

If really look into the origins of Astrology, it started as a way of the Pagens to interpret the stars.

You are correct in that God created the stars & in Genesis 1:14 he told Moses this:

"And God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark seasons and days and years,"

But, this NOT a reference to Astrology.

I would encourage doing some research on the Hebrew Mazzaroth. The early Hebrews had there own way of interpreting the stars. If you seriously look at it, it actually tell the the whole Gospel, here:
