This has been on my mind for a while now. I have read about people having out of body experiences and near death experiences. But there is some people out thier who say that they can provoke these out of body experiences on themselves. They call it Astral Projection. They say they can seperate thier soul from thier physical body, through meditation and other means. I have a few questions about this.

1. Is Astral Projection wrong and sinful?

2. Is Astral Projection occultic and witchcraft?

3. Is Astral Projection even real and can it even happen?

4. If it is possible how would you do it?

5. If it is real and possible, then would a person be opening himself or herself to Demonic activity?

Please tell me your opinion.

You might should have asked this in the Christian only section, but...

Astral projection and out of body experiences are all internal mental experiences. They have no evidence of being anything more than just your imagination at work They really aren't any different in function or source than any other "religious" experience.

So to answer your questions:

1. No, sin is a meaningless concept without a god, and since gods are imaginary, nothing is sin. In the broader sense of your question, no its not a bad activity, nor is it necessarily a good one.

2. There is no such thing as witchcraft, just some people with a different religion that you practicing their faith.

3. The experience is a real mental experience, as in your mind definitely undergoes the illusion of leaving the body, but their is no evidence that this is not an entirely self contained experience.

4. Easiest way is through sensory deprivation. By blocking all sensory experience, you are left with just your internal mental process. In such an environment, you feel a sense of dislocation, like your min di is no longer part of a physical body. With practice, this same effect can be achieved with meditation.

5. Demons don't exist, so no.

1. Is Astral Projection wrong and sinful?

No.

2. Is Astral Projection occultic and witchcraft?

No.

3. Is Astral Projection even real and can it even happen?

I've met people who claimed to do it. Who knows, but I would guess it's possible.

4. If it is possible how would you do it?

Be real still, be real quiet, and don't ever talk again.

Good luck!

5. If it is real and possible, then would a person be opening himself or herself to Demonic activity?

Or they could be talking to angels.

1. Is Astral Projection wrong and sinful?

nope

2. Is Astral Projection occultic and witchcraft?

That depends on your definitions of the words

3. Is Astral Projection even real and can it even happen?

Yes

4. If it is possible how would you do it?

Google can be your best friend too...

5. If it is real and possible, then would a person be opening himself or herself to Demonic activity?

No, see the things is once you achieve this, anything your mind thinks of becomes "real", all your fears, terrors, desires will come out and manifest, and depending on your level of control you may be in a sheer nightmare

Overall no, no demonic influence

1. Of course not. Why would be it?

2. I wouldn't call it that. It's certainly not witchcraft.

3. Yes it is. I do it all the time. One time when I did it, and during my journey I was outside of my house, and I saw one of my cats. I went over to pet him, and he scratched at my arm. When I came back to my body, there was a scratch on my arm in that correct spot, which wasn't there previously.

4. It's difficult to explain, but it can be done. :p

5. Demons don't exist. Sometimes I use the word "demon", just because it's easier, but when I do I'm talking about a malevolent spirit, not the Christian 'demon'. The only way I could see this happening is if one came up and tried to mess with you while you were out of your body. But that interaction with your body would draw you back (atleast it does with me), so you could stop it before anything happens.

Wow. That was a lot longer than I thought it was going to be.

1. Nope

2. Nope

3. Yes, it is real, I've done it first hand and know many who have done it as well. It's possible to establish connection with angels, guardians and other such higher beings.

4. Google is your friend.. it takes ALOT of research to find a useful method and whatnot.. beware of fluffiness on the internet though - there are many sites that could lead you astray, and many people who would lie about having done it. The only way to know is to do it yourself.

5. Just as you can contact higher beings, you can contact lower beings, negative entities and whatnot. They can scare you, the strongest of which can hurt you, but you are mostly free of the truly demonic sort. During research - look into protecting yourself. God is still all powerful there (protection hint)

And yes, I'm aware I look completely insane. And yes, I did think all those in it were completely insane and was hugely skeptical toward it until I tried it myself.

1. no its not sinful

2.people who don't believe or do not practice witchcraft can do it, knowingly or not.

3.its very real

4. you have to be in a different state of trance, with no anxious thoughts(thats where I have trouble with) very relaxed http://wuzzle.org/cave/astral.html

5.A person can open him/herself to demonic activity anytime. Just don't lose faith in Christ and you'll be fine

They say they can gain an awareness of their astral body as it travels around. It is never separate from their physical body.

1. Is Astral Projection wrong and sinful? No it happens almost every time you go to sleep.

2. Is Astral Projection occultic and witchcraft? No but occultists also do it.

3. Is Astral Projection even real and can it even happen? There have been studies that indicate that it may be real. The problem with the awareness is the problem of nonlocality.

4. If it is possible how would you do it? There are rather simple breathing exercises one can do to achieve the state.

5. If it is real and possible, then would a person be opening himself or herself to Demonic activity? No. It certainly has less demonic influence than many of the things presented to the passive mind when watching TV. That is of course, unless the person is involved in a demonic oriented mindset.

1. No "sin" concept in my faith, hence no sin. Whether it is generally wrong depends on what you use it for.

2. Define the words and I can answer. ;)

3. Frankly, I don't know. I've never experienced it so far. Maybe I'm just (un)lucky :)

4. No idea.

5. As I don't believe in any kind of "demon", my obvious answer is "no". :D

Astral projection is pretend. BibleBeliever, you should have no qualms about dismissing the testimony of those who say otherwise, just as you have no qualms dismissing the testimony of members of other religions, and just as I have no qualms about dismissing your testimony. Say what you will about atheistic materialism, but it has this going for it: we already know all the answers to questions about metaphysics.

Astral Projection isnt necessarily done through meditation. It requires intense mental discipline to do it intentionally and is more of a mind excersize than anything else.

1. Is Astral Projection wrong and sinful?
I dont see why it would be

2. Is Astral Projection occultic and witchcraft?
It can be but doesnt have to be

3. Is Astral Projection even real and can it even happen?
I would say yes

4. If it is possible how would you do it?
When I did it, I did it by laying down in bed and staring at a fixed object as I started to fall asleep.

5. If it is real and possible, then would a person be opening himself or herself to Demonic activity?
That depends to the degree you take it

Please tell me your opinion.
That its nothing worse than people who have mentally trained themselves not to flinch at the sound of a gun going off.

What you all think of past life regression?

I think it is somewhat suspicious that whenever someone does that, they always come back and claim they were a noble, or a knight, or a gun fighter, or something equally nifty.

No one ever comes back to say, "I was a peasant who worked on a farm for 22 years, lost all my teeth, and died from dirty water."

My past lives
Just past Tibetian priest
previous to that a Finnish peasant woman.

Conflict with my understanding of Christianity? Not at all.

Very good and very interesting replys!

Here's some other questions:

What kind of things do you see or do when you Astral project or when you're in your Astral body?

I have read on a website that when you're in your Astral body that you can go to different planets, worlds, dimensions, universes, and different other places. Is that true?

This question may be freaked out and kind of weird, but have any of you seen God himself or the Devil himself, or been to Heaven or Hell while in your Astral Body or when you have Astral Projected?

The reason I ask that is because in the Bible is says that "To be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord."

Tell me your opinion. :)

To the person who asked about past life regression. There is no such thing as reincarnation. The Bible says "It is appointed to man ONCE to die THEN the judgment." But you are entitled to the freedom to believe whatever you want to believe.

It depends, some people choose to remain in our realm of existance, other people believe that your soul will go to annother place but only temporarily. It depends on your beliefs

I have read on a website that when you're in your Astral body that you can go to different planets, worlds, dimensions, universes, and different other places. Is that true?
Theoretically yes

This question may be freaked out and kind of weird, but have any of you seen God himself or the Devil himself, or been to Heaven or Hell while in your Astral Body or when you have Astral Projected?
No, I've confined my travel to this world only.

The reason I ask that is because in the Bible is says that "To be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord."
Well your body isnt actually dead and its still your body, the only part that's departed is your consciousness

To the person who asked about past life regression. There is no such thing as reincarnation.
So you believe
