Yup ... boggles the mind, doesn't it?I find it Kinda interesting that some of the posters here have a christian denomination below their name and they deny the Bible. They say science has disproven the Bible.....then the same "christians" want to believe a dead man rose from the grave on day despite science say's that's impossible.
such as????
I've already explained floating veggie mats.
Specifically talking about the various things AV professes to believe about the flood narrative:
- The ark was bigger on the inside
- The flood waters went to Neptune after they receded
- Noah originally lived in New Jersey
- God 'cleaned up' afterwards by not only removing all physical traces of the flood, but also creating new features like the white cliffs of Dover which show vast amounts of embedded history that never actually happened

Pardon, but you haven’t. A bunch of dead, floating wood is not going to be enough to support the vast array of fungal, insect, and plant life that would’ve been destroyed by a global flood.
Again, many insects require specific environments. You have insects like worms that live in the earth. You have insects like bees that need to pollinate with flowers. There are mosquitos that only use blood from living animals - good luck finding those.
Just saying ‘veggie mats’ and showing a picture of a bunch of floating trees doesn’t come close to explaining away all of this.
In some cases it doesn't matter if science says it or not.I find it Kinda interesting that some of the posters here have a christian denomination below their name and they deny the Bible. They say science has disproven the Bible.....then the same "christians" want to believe a dead man rose from the grave on day 3 despite science say's that's impossible.

I believe God swept up all the dead coccoliths lying all over the Earth, into nice neat piles.
interesting concept. In some cases it doesn't matter if science says it or not.
My favorite example now is the Ark.
Science says there are about eleven dimensions of space.
But when I apply that science to the Ark, they suddenly send their science packing.
Lasthero has dealt with this succinctly in his prior post. Your ludicrous suggestion reveals that you have close to zero appreciation of the complexity of the biosphere and the very specific requirements of environment to enable the functioning and survival of the biological components of any ecology. You cannot duplicate, even approximately, those conditions - for forty days and nights - on a floating vegetable mat.I've already explained floating veggie mats. Spirit lake was just one example. Climb out of your box.

In an earlier post you claimed that fish subjected to the pressure of several additional kilometres of water could simply swim up. That completely ignores my other point that in swimming up salt water fish find themselves in fresh water. Some species of fish can accommodate that change. Guess what, they have evolved to do so, but the majority cannot.
The Ark is a metaphor. It is an important metaphor in the theology of Christianity. By misrepresenting it, it is difficult to see how you avoid distorting the religion.
Even in areas where there are no trees?A world wide flood would have produced massive vegetation mats.
The worms could have easily survived in the earthen root balls of trees and other plants.
When it was said that there were no insects on the Ark, I took that to mean that there were no insects on the Ark, my apologies.Keep in mind no one said all insects such as the mosquitos were not on the ark where there was plenty of blood to suck.

So, the understanding I had when I was a Christian disappeared when I ceased to be one. I'm not sure how that works. However, I'll concede your point and just follow the lead of the millions of Christians who believe what I just suggested might be the case. If you disagree with that perhaps you should take it up with them.Considering you're an agnostic you don't have the ability to understand the truths behind christianity.
All one has to do is look at the polystrate trees as well as the rock strata to know it was deposited quickly rather than millions upon millions of years.
If the strata was as old as the old earths say the critters on the surface would have bioturbated the soil and there would be no distinct layers.
Even in areas where there are no trees?
And they would have just known to go there when it started raining?
No problemWhen it was said that there were no insects on the Ark, I took that to mean that there were no insects on the Ark, my apologies.
Regardless, there are mosquitos just about everywhere on earth, they live just about anywhere there are things to suck. All the species across the world couldn’t have gotten on the Ark.
Not to mention, having mosquitos breeding in a closed environment over a period of weeks seems like a bad scenario, especially given their propensity for carrying diseases and how fast they breed.
Chuck Missler points out that Paul mentions four dimensions of space.interesting concept.

While my view of your grasp of your own religion is merely an opinion, and therefore quite possibly wrong, the same is not true of my view of your grasp of biology. That is insufficient for you to make any meaningful comment on any topic of biology. This you have amply demonstrated via your assertions and questions. Consequently I see no benefit to further discussion with you. (I reserve the right if I spot an especially egregious error from you, to correct it.)
There are a lot of things wrong with this - the polystrate tree thing has been explained to death - but we’re honestly getting too far off topic. If you make a topic on the flood, I’d love to discuss it with you, -57, but let’s get back to the asteroid impact, here.
Do you accept that there was a massive asteroid impact? If not, why? If so, how does that fit in with your specific Biblical worldview? Did it happen during the flood?
That has nothing to do with the post you responded to.
While making them look like they died naturally over periods of millions of years.
