  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi everyone, and God bless.

I hesitated before even beginning this thread, because I know there are so many others in the world with greater needs than I. But I do feel led to ask for your prayers, so here goes...

I went in to work yesterday only to find out that my position has been eliminated due to downsizing. Initially, of course, I was shocked and stunned. However, an unexplainable calm came over me while I was sitting in that office listening to the VP explain why I no longer had a job... and I knew immediately that my calm and strength was coming from the Lord. It reminded me that He is always there, and that He is in charge, and that He will not ever give us a burden that we cannot bear with His help.

So although I am asking for your prayers for me and for my family during this time of financial struggle we have ahead, this is my true prayer request... that my spiritual eyes and ears would be open during this time, so that I might see and hear what the Lord is telling me, where He is leading me. I do believe He has a specific plan for me, as this lay-off is an answer to my prayers, although this isn't quite the answer I had expected. ;) Please pray for me that I will hear what He is telling me, that I will keep my trust in Him alone, so that I may be led by Him exactly where I need to be... wherever that may be.

Thanks in advance for all of your prayers, they are greatly appreciated!!

Love in Christ,

Pamela

For some the loss of their job can be devastating but you are showing the right attitude about this so I'm more than sure things will work out for you. As long as you keep in prayer and listen to what God is saying then you'll be fine! This can be a great opportunity for you to really get into the Lord and see where he is leading you!

God, may your Holy Spirit shine upon Pamela and her family and may you truely bless them. May her heart, her eyes, her mind, and her soul open up to you Lord. Help her God in this period of need. I ask that if we all here agree together on this may it be done so for Pamela in Jesus name, Amen!
Praise HIM!!!
And do so often...
Thank him for what you have now, not what you have lost!

Your brother in Christ, Paul

Praying that God will provide for your family...he always does, you know!

Hi fieldmouse3...

You are so right, and I think knowing that is what has allowed me to focus on the good that can come out of this, rather than the bad that it seems to be on the surface.

Thanks for your prayers.

In His Love,

Pamela

Praying for you Pamela, that God will lead you to a job that will be just what you are looking for and will be better for you than the one that you had. I have always heard that when God closes a door, somewhere he opens a window. I pray that window will open soon for you!
