I can't prove to you faith. Every person has to find this out for themselves. When you find it, and it's Gods word that is able to produce faith, you find that it is no longer necessary to hunt for answers else where. But that's what faith is. The Bible says "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, and the EVIDENCE of things not yet seen." For the Christian, being given Faith is all the Evidence a person needs. It's something they didn't produce within themselves. This comes from God, through the Word. Not very scientific I know, but faith isn't about scientific proofs. People of faith won't be convienced by anything other than the Word, and so the person that want's scientific backup won't be convienced by anything other.. But it's been nice discussing it with you anyway.

And neither does what you believe or not believe have any bearing whatsoever on what truth is. Truth, if it is ultimate truth, has no dependence whatsoever on what you or I think the truth is.

Of course.

Here we agree.

What is ultimately depressing is if there is no ultimate truth, which obviously you don't think there is, and that's depressing and very sad.

I do not understand what you are implying by the phrase 'ultimate truth' so cannot comment of whether I believe there is a 'ultimate truth' or not.

And like I have already said, the fact either you or I find something sad or depressing say nothing about it validity and much more about ones personal outlook.

I thought I would ask again,

My Question: Do you mind if I as a Christian, and other Christians pray for you?

I'm an atheist. I guess I don't mind. It meant that people are wanting the best for you, even though I consider it misguided. I don't see prayer as being any more than a form of meditation and self reflection (aside form the religious reenforcement element)

I have no problem with people praying however they want. Altough praying directly to my face in an attempt to convert / exorcise me would probably cross the line.
