  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Well Indiana basketball is being
Replaced with Colts mania after their
SB win!

Sort of, its hard to tell.

The problem is that I live in Northwestern Indiana. Its very close to Chicago and there are actually more Bears fans in the area then Colts fans. (Although there where quite a few of both.)

We in Indiana still like our Football don't get me wrong, but its not a sport that everyone plays. Here isn't just the talent of the pro-teams or college teams here its just a simple fact of life that everyone here plays basketball and people get real excited about high school basketball.

I'll give you an example, my freshman year of college I went to a college that was in Indiana but most of the people where out of state. So I go to play a pickup game with some friends and this was the first time we played so I asked how good they where. They both thought they where pretty good or at least decent. I thought that I wasn't very good, I mean I just wasn't when I had played before, althought I had only played people from Indiana.

When we started playing them, my teammate and I where completly smoking them. I mean I thought I was going to get spanked but the opposite actually happened. I havn't played very much in a while but when I was in high school and early college man we played all the time. So a lot of it I think can be chaulked up to the Indiana factor. I only quit playing basketball because I took up the ballroom dance thing and our coach didn't want us playing any contact sports lest we injure an ankle or our legs or something like that.

So to answer your question I don't think so. Football is great but a lot of us just like to watch it. If you want great football go to Texas. But all of us love to play basketball here in Indiana, most girls here know how to play and all the guys do.
