  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I don't know. That's a big question. I'd like to inspire a lot of changes, but I'll focus on the one of this month. This month is Sexual Assault Awareness (and Prevention) Month. I have a teal ribbon as my Facebook profile pic and my timeline cover photo is telling people what this month is to me. I have shared a couple of statuses that I thought might be helpful. A couple of months ago, I shared an article that talked about how bad rape jokes were. On Tumblr I am also sharing a lot of information about rape. I'd like to inspire a change in people's attitudes and awareness of sexual assault. I don't want to hear the word "Sl*t" anymore. I don't want to ever hear again someone asking "what was she wearing?" I don't want to hear that men are ashamed of being raped because they feel it makes them weak or gay to be raped by a man. I want more men (women, too, but the vast majority of rapists are men) to truly realize what sexual assault is and to stand up against it; to stand up against rape jokes and rape culture. I don't know how much my social media sharing will make a difference, but I figure maybe a little information will help. I believe rapists (or potential rapists) feel empowered by rape jokes and rape culture and if I spread information that helps men to stand up against that and takes some of the wind out of those rapists sails, that would be good.

Since I'm a Christian, you might have expected me to say that the one change I want to inspire is for people to turn from sin and towards God through Jesus Christ. But I'll admit that I'm not good at evangelizing and do not want to be one of those Christians who don't know when to back off and respect other people's wishes to be left alone. And I don't think I'm such an amazing Christian that people look at me, instantly assume I'm a Christian, and want me to help them become Christians. So, right now I just pray for people and am open to discussion if people are interested (plus I share some religious stuff on Facebook)...but I don't expect to be an inspiration.

If you could invite 6 famous people to dinner (past or present, real or fictional), who would you want to dine with?

Sandra Bullock, Alan Rickman, Ellen Page, Johnny Depp, Alan Alda, Hermione Granger.

I was raised going to church, officially became a Christian at 9 and baptized at 10. I've always been a Christian since then, but in my early 20s, I was very interested in astrology and tarot cards. I moved past that in my mid20s, though.

It's nice. My husband is amazingly supportive and accepting. I honestly never thought I'd find a guy so loving. I've heard that the first year of marriage is the hardest, but it's not rough at this point. I mean, we're two independent people working to blend our lives together, but I think it's going quite well.
