  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What's your middle name?

Eric. Which is also the name I go by since I've been called 'Eric' my whole life - which of course begs the question why my parents didn't make Eric my first name. ;)

What cartoons do you read?

The last comic I read was a Ren & Stimpy comic. That's been many years ago.

What news paper do you read? Or do you prefer to watch news on the TV?

As far as "newspapers", the only one I read is the Wall Street Journal (online). I get most of my news online, primarily from BBC.com and WSJ.com, though I do watch TV to catch some news there at times too.

Do you trust a lot of people?
Are you forgiving?
What's going on tomorrow?
Are you in a good mood?
What was the last thing you laughed at?
Do you tend to get lost driving?
Do you have a mental illness of choice (if you had to have one)?
What is the last thing you said aloud?
Outside your family, who is the one person you would be stranded on an island with? hmmm probably
What pictures do you have around you right now?
What is a good random quote you know?
What is something you fear that's completely random?
And you're afraid of that because?
Are you mad at someone right now?
Do you wear contacts?
Do you like thunderstorms?
Do you believe in the 5 second rule?
What is the most stupid thing you have done?
What are your current feelings about your first true love?
What is your weapon of choice?
Would you rather improve something or appreciate it the way it is?

This one didn't leave much else to ask ;)

Questions from Violetpen:

What is something you fear that's completely random?
Tornados -.-

And you're afraid of that because?
I have a slight penchant for retaining my life and tornados aren't conducive to longevity.

What? These things?-->

I'm more terrified of--->
leprechaun2.jpg

Do you believe in the 5 second rule?
No. And the TV show Myth Busters backed me up on that one. =P
~spits current food out in disgust~

What is the most stupid thing you have done?
Hmm. Probably driving my bicycle through a barbed-wire fence...[/B

I'd like to know your secret because I, on the other hand, didn't make it THROUGH.

Ok:

Favorite winter sport that you yourself do?
Explain your avatar quote please. Or rather, why you have that one.
Are you really really Irish? Like having the accent?
Most embarrassing moment?
"What" were you in school: the bully, the picked on, or the neutral
Favorite sports? To play/watch:
When you want to be alone and in thought, describe the surroundings.
Any wierd/odd quirks/talents?

LOL, yeah, I'm afraid the 5 second rule has been scientifically proved wrong. :p

As for the secret to the barbed-wire fence... well, my uncle didn't have it tied off at one end (he put it up across the dirt road to herd cattle from one field to another) securely - he just wrapped the coil around the post, so when I went flying into it on my bike it first rubber-banded out, then the coil came loose and flew through the air smacking me in the face, knocking me off my bike. Maybe you were luckier in that your fence didn't give way :p

Ok:

Snow ski! I love snow skiing, though I've thought about taking up snowboarding next time I hit the slopes...

Explain your avatar quote please. Or rather, why you have that one.

It was a line from Jim Carry's 'Bruce Almighty' when he was ranting against God for all the "perceived" bad things he was experiencing. It struck me as hilarious, and reminded me of a tirade I once launched into myself. :sorry:

Are you really really Irish? Like having the accent?

If you mean "really really" Irish, as in having been born or lived there, no. Irish by blood rather. I DO have the accent though! :D Rather, I can imitate it veeeery well. ;)

Most embarrassing moment?

Probably tripping and falling into the water I was about to be Baptized in.

"What" were you in school: the bully, the picked on, or the neutral

Neutral I guess - I didn't bully, didn't like people who bullied and bullied a couple of bullies myself. :sorry:

Favorite sports? To play/watch:

Favorite to play - volleyball, football and baseball. To watch? FOOTBALL! :)

When you want to be alone and in thought, describe the surroundings.

The surroundings could be any place in my house I guess. My ideal surrounding for contemplative thought though? A quiet glade in the forest, on the shore of a pristine lake. :)

Any wierd/odd quirks/talents?

I do accents very well - Russian, French (Parisian), Irish and German. I can also immitate several animal sounds as well. Hey... it's what happens when you have a lot of time on your hands. :p

Maybe so, but my incident with the electric fence proved to be less forgiving.

Same here. Can't wait to try it. I've never skied, but I use to skateboard so I'm thinkin I have a head start in the learning process. If not, it'll at least be funny.

I could tell there was some kind of irony in it. Cool. Be proud of that. It got you "here".

I admire people that can do that and it's interesting to watch the efforts in their faces when doing them. I'm watching in intrigue more than I am listening. I have this friend though that just does it constantly. After awhile it's like..."wouldja just hush for a second?" ^_^

More questions....thinking, thinking...(me color texting this thing was a mess :sorry:

lol! You know, I don't get that - my girlfriend absolutely loves the Irish accent too. If I weren't Irish, I'd have to wonder why exactly, but, ya know, being Irish I of course have to say, "yeah, I know..." :p ;)
