  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hmmm...favorite dream, huh? Probably the one I had soon after my great grandmother died. I dreamt I was in her old house and she was making breakfast for the family. Everything was going along fine until it occurred to me that she was dead, I became very upset and told her that I was going to miss her. She told me that everything was okay, that she knew she'd see me again and she had been telling lots of people about me and they were praying for me and couldn't wait to see me. Then I woke up crying.

I realise it could have been just imagination wish fulfillment to have a chance to talk to her again, but I believe that the dream was real and I really talked to her.

I've seen a bit of Doctor Who, and what I've seen is pretty good. But as to the question, I know it might sound stereotypical, I really would like to go and see Jesus in person. To listen to him teach, watch him interact with people, see if he pulled pranks and told jokes, have a talk with him about things I wonder about... That would be amazing.

Thanks for the question!

Hey Crispfin! What's your favorite band?
Hey skythelimit!

I'd probably say my favorite band in the one I've been listening to my whole life: The Beatles. My mom used to sing "Yesterday" all the time when I was growing up (she also had a thing for Janis Joplin, but that's another story :) ), my kindergarten teacher used to have us sing "Octopus's Garden" and "Yellow Submarine". And it just went on from there. SO they'd be my all time fav.

Thanks for the question!

Now back to pondering frenzy's question...

Nice! My old RA from college had a bunch of Beatles albums on record and he'd play them often...nothing quite beats the sound of old records.
Definitely! I got Sgt. Pepper's and the White Album on vinyl. I used to love to play them, but my turn table broke. :(

Lol I saw this in my list of threads I posted in before. If you could spend a whole day in anyone else's shoes, who's would you pick?
I figured I should finally get around to answering this one. I guess if I could be in anyone's shoes I would choose to be in a very conservative person's shoes--conservative both politically and Christian-wise. I would really like to understand the way they think and try to grasp why they feel the way they do. I think it would really help me to better understand my conservative Christian brothers and sisters.

How's it goin' Crisp?
Pretty good actually! I spent a week with my friend's son a while back, and it was tiring, but awesome. I'm also gonna be moving and starting back to college next month, so I'm doing alright. Thanks for asking. :)

Where do you go to college?
Are you like the old man around campus?
Whoops! Kinda missed this question. I'm going to be going to college at UT Arlington and studying Anthropology. I haven't started school yet, so I don't know if I'll be the old man on campus. I hope not, but even if I am, my brother looks older than me, and since he'll also be attending, perhaps they'll think He's the old man of the campus. :)

Thanks for your question!

Is it different going to school now as opposed to if you were going ten years ago?
I think the main difference between the last time I was in college and now is that I am taking it far more seriously now than last time. When i first went, I kind of had the attitude of I was just gonna go and get my degree in something so I could have a better job when I got out. That was probably why I originally majored in English because the classes came pretty easily to me and I really didn't have to really work to pass them. But now I don't just want to do something because it's easy. I want to not just pass my classes, I also want to excel in my chosen field. I want to do something more than just have a diploma, I'm determined to work hard and really have knowledge.

Another thing that is different from when I went last time is that most of my former time in college was before my conversion. So in addition to striving to excel in my area of study, I also want to find a way that I can honor God in my work. I feel a very good way to do this is by striving to do my best, but I'm also seeking some way that my work can also be an offering to him. I haven't found that yet, but I'm still trying to find a way.

Thanks for your excellent question! :)

What was your first car? And do you own a 2010 Shelby GT-500?
I actually only got my first car a few months ago. It's a black 2007 Chevy Cobalt which I call "the Lord of Cobalt" in reference to the legendary Lords of Kobol from the show Battlestar Gallactica. Yeah, my nerd meter's really high...

Sadly, I do not own 2010 Shelby GT-500. Perhaps some day, but not today.

Thanks for your questions!
