What is your favorite inspirational quote - not from Scripture?

The one in my signature - Grace is free but it is not cheap. There is so much truth in that and it's as relevent today as when Dietrich Bonhoeffer said it 60 years ago. People today want cheap grace - just say one prayer and your saved and it doesn't have to affect the rest of your life. Grace isn't like that.

Do you decorate your home for Christmas the day right after Thanksgiving?

No. For two reasons. First of all, we don't celebrate Thanksgiving in Iceland. Secondly, I don't celebrate Christmas and so don't decorate my home. I don't celebrate either Christmas or Easter because of the Pagan traditions associated with them. I celebrate the Biblical holidays - Passover, the Days of Unleavened Bread, Feast of Firstfruits, Feast of Weeks (Pentecost), Feast of Trumpets, Day of Atonement, Feast of Tabernacles, Chaunukah.

What is your favorite Holiday tradition and why?

As far as Christmas is concerned, my favorite part is when it's over (around mid January). It starts so early now that by the time Christmas actually comes, I'm really tired of it.

My favorite holiday is Passover because of all the rich symbolism it contains about Jesus.

I would want to go on a tour of the Biblical lands - Not just Israel but all the places mentioned in the Bible. (Mesopotamia (aka Iraq) might be an exception right now though. I think I'd skipt that part.) I've wanted to see those places for a long time to see where the events in the Bible took place.

What's your favorite meal (and is it something you fix yourself or do you go out to eat for it)?

BTW - recipes would be nice;)

edie

Preheat oven to 180C (356F)
Season rack of lamb with salt, black pepper (freshly ground) and garlic powder
Place meat in center of oven and cook for 20 min.
Lower heat to 160C (320F) and cook until center is 75C (167F)

While the meat is cooking:
Slice potatoes
Slice carrots
Chop onions
Slice mushrooms (fresh)
Saute vegitables in butter
season with garlic salt and lemon pepper

Enjoy

(All amounts are up to you depending on how many it's for. I usually just cook for myself and I use 2 medium sized potatoes (or 1 baking potato), a few mushrooms (depends on size), 2 carrots and 1 small onion.)

If you had one whole day to do whatever YOU wanted to do . . .what would it be?

I would want to go visit my girlfriend. Problem is that it takes half the day to get there. She lives on the other side of the Atlantic.

If I were to choose something that could more realistically be fit into 24 hours, I would travel someplace that I haven't seen before. There are many beautiful places here in Iceland that I haven't seen and many places within a reasonable distance (Greenland, Faero Islands, Scotland, Ireland and more) that I would like to see.
