What charitable organization do you think is most worthy?

There are many worthy charities but, there is only one I support - ABC Childrens Aid. It's an Icelandic charity. Among other things, they run a childrens villiage in India which is supported totally by Icelanders. The main reason I support them is that besides being a worthy cause, they are the only charity I know that send more than 100% of donations to the cause being supported. None of the donations are used for administrative costs (people can support that seperately) and they send any left over money to support poor and homeless children.

How long have you and your girlfriend been dating? And do you plan on marrying her?

We have both had bad experiences as a result of revealing too much personal information online (You won't be the only one to read this answer). There are no plans regarding marriage yet but I don't want to go into more detail than that.

Do you exercise regularly? If so, what is your favorite form of exercise?

Not as regularly as I should, I'm afraid. As a result, I'm about 20 lbs over weight. I'm trying to do something about that though. I recently bought a stair machine and I sometimes jog or do calesthenics. Wasking is my favorite "exercise" though.

Would you mind sharing your testimony with us? :) (how you became a Christian)

I was very young when I was born. I was born in a hospital since that's where my mother was and I wanted to be close to her. I seemed to be in somewhat of a hurry to get into this world. If I'd known what awaited me, I wouldn't have rushed so much.

When I was 3 years old, I was diagnosed with Epilepsy. The drugs I had to take were very expensive and my parents were buying their first home. They decided to move to Oklahoma. My father got a better paying job there than he could here.

Because of the drugs, I was put in a special ed class for kids with learning disabilities. I was bullied by the other kids in class and didn't have many friends. There was one guy I got along with though. His name was Bruce Grove. I never knew what was wrong with him but he had braces on one leg. In spite of his handicap and the fact that he got bullied by the other kids, he was always happy. He kept whistling "Raindrops keep falling on my head" which I found irritating. I never understood him but we got along ok.
He was one year older than me - he was in the 6th grade and I was in the 5th when we met. He went on to junior high scool at the end of the year and I didn't see him any more.

When I was in the 10th grade, I was a self-proclaimed atheist. I wasn't in special ed any more but I still didn't have any friends and was still bullied. There was a guy in my electronics class who asked me to eat lunch with him one day and introduced me to some of his friends. One of them (who I later found out worked for Campus Crusade for Christ) started witnessing to me. CCC publish a tract called The 4 Spiritual Laws. For the benifit of those who may not have seen this tract, the 4 Law are:

1. God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life.
2. All have sinned and therefore broken the fellowship between God and man
3. Jesus death on the cross is the only way back to God
4. (I'll get to this one in a little while)

Dick (the man witnessing to me) had memorized the entire tract. That luch period, he went through the first 3 laws before I had to go back to class. I was in total agreement that man had sinned - war, poverty etc but, I never thought that I had sinned. He ended by saying "Think about what I've told you and we'll talk more tomorrow". I promised to think about it. Of couse, it didn't enter my mind at all until lunch the next day. Dick asked if I'd given it some thought and to be polite, I said I had. He asked me what I thought about it and I mumbled something. I'm sure Dick realized that I had completely forgotten about it but he never said anything. He just wen through the first 3 laws every day at lunch, day after day.

Then one day at dinner, my brother says, completely out of the blue: "Bruce broke his good leg." I said "What? Bruce Grove? The guy with the thing on his leg?" He confirmed that was the Bruce he was talking about and told how it happened in a car accident. Then I asked him whether Bruced lived somewhere close by. It seems that for 5 years, Bruce had lived 5 houses up the street from me without me knowing it.

I went to visit Bruce and we started hanging out together. One day when I was at his house, he said he had something to show me. He went to a drawer and took out a little orange tract. It was The 4 Spiritual Laws. I nodded consent to the first 3 which I had heard many times before without realizing they were from that tract. Then he got to the 4th law - the one I'd never heard before.

4. We must each personally recieve Jesus as our Lord and savior so that we can know God's love and plan for our lives.

The trackt presented only 2 options - life with or without God - and it said I had to make a choice. I didn't have to think long to realize that the better choice was life with God in control of my life. That evening, I accepted Christ as my savior.

That was 32 years ago. So many things have happened since then that there is no way I could tell you about it all here. But during all those years, in spite of many problems, sorrows and failures, I have never regretted that decision.

What are "air cookies"?

They're good. Click on the link for a recipe. They're called air cookies because they're very light and because they are hollow. A big pocket of air forms inside each cookie when they're baked. They are a traditional Christmas cookie in Iceland but they are hard to make. The dough is very tough (or so I'm told. I've never tried to make them).

What's your favorite Christmas song (secular or religious)?

edie

My favorite Christmas song isn't really a Christmas song although everybody thinks it is. Maybe even the guy who wrote it. The song is Joy to the World. Think about it for a minute.

...Let earth receive her king
...Let Heaven and nature sing
...The Savior reigns
...Fields, floods, rocks, hills and plains repeat the sounding joy
...He rules the world

Do these things better describe our Saviors birth or his imminent return?
