CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I am a bit uncomfortable around homosexual men. That doesn't necessarily mean I think gay marriage should be illegal or anything, however; it just means that there's this irrational thought in my mind that this gay man may try something physical. That, or any physical contact from me may be sexual.
I KNOW how stupid and irrational that thought is, but it's there.

I can hardly stand women myself, sometimes.
I like women, because to me, they are the most beautiful creatures in existence. Sometimes though, one of those creatures has a beautiful personality to match, and that makes some heteros fall in love.

I myself aren't arent forcing the heterosexual agenda. But growing up, being gay was considered gross and unmanly. So the society I grew up in, as well as the media, sort of molded me into thinking that the hetero-lifestyle is the only way.

I do know what you mean- if I'm in a non-specifically gay area, there's always a chance that a straight man is going to hit on me.* And the possibility that having a conversation with a straight man will come across as an indicator of attration. It does make social interaction a bit of a minefield...
This is true for straight women as well.
To any straight men who don't realise how daft their fears are, all I can say is 'Welcome to the female world, dudes!'
*Actually, I got hit on by a straight man on Canal Street (Manchester's gay clubs and bars area) when I was with my girlfriend!

With so many of us all receiving 2 million blessings each, I have wondered who would have so many to pass out, since normally they come out of the donor's own blessings account. I'm beginning to suspect that it is a Christmas present from the administrators and the site owner.
