• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Wow, that's a good one. It would probably be something that emphasized how you treat others.

How do deal with your mistakes when you've screwed up so bad the person won't accept an apology?

I've realised that I have to slowly build back that trust lost, so I communicate that intent to whoever I've offended and then leave it (not discuss it further) in the hope that the other person will see I mean business through my actions. The biggest release for me has been to seek their forgiveness because not only do they see your own remorse of what you've done, you also, receive a release from the Lord, even if they don't forgive you (re: Matt 5:23-26). Essentially, the Lord wants you to verbally acknowledge the wrong moreso to Him, so that His Spirit can soften the heart of the other person ..... eventually :)

How do you get over the days when you just don't feel like going to church?

Don't go :) (You never said I had to give a good answer!) I try to remind myself that there's a reason to go beyond the feeling that I must, that it's a duty. I also wonder if there's a particular reason the devil doesn't want me to go that day.

What kinds of things move you enough to journal them?

I've noticed in my "old age" that I have a tendency to forget my little "LP moments" - i.e. those moments that I'd otherwise forget, that are either too funny or too sad. So, I've taken to note them down so that at a later date I can read them and conclude that yep, I am a bit of a nutty bird. :D

Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?

I have no clue. I would have said in the not so recent past that I would have been married with 2 kids. Now that is not the case. I don't know.

I would like to see myself married with 2 kids and at home, but I am not sure I have faith in that.

Is your life now as you expected it to be?

Not really ... I'm not at all where I want to be in my marriage, but my career is farther than I expected. Strangely, the two are not related as in many cases - it's my personal issues that have hurt the marriage - not putting career ahead of family.

If you had a year to concentrate on one character flaw, habit or personality trait, what would it be and why (what would it do for you)?

It may be my ability to do everything on my own. I am the strong one out of all those in my circle so I tend to do everything on my own when I should be asking for support.

I need to allow people in to help me or I may just die of a heart attack before 40. :)

What is your best attribute? Did I spell that right?

That I'm the humblest person I know :)

Ok, that was funny. I don't know how to answer this one! It feels too much like bragging. Setting that aside, I guess it would be that I am an intelligent and analytical person, and I try to use this to great advantage.

How does your best attribute get you in trouble or cause problems?

Yes, sometimes very prideful - like what right do you have to judge me. Usually though, it's a fear - fear that this is the last chance, that this is the last forgiveness.

What's the most important thing for you when you look for an apt or a house?

Security - that it's alarmed and all windows and doors are burglar-proof.

If you were given the choices of a beach front apartment, a self contained house in a forest, or a large city victorian house in good commutable distant to the airport, which one would you live in?

Right now, I'd go for the beachfront apartment.

Where do you go to destress when you are feeling panicky?
Galleria

If you had unlimited funds what would be the first purchase you would make.

Movies that make me cry: The Notebook, Titanic, The Green Mile, and American History X

I'd buy a private tropical island that I could turn into a christian couples retreat. A place where christian married couples could go to escape everyday life and get closer to God and each other. I'd make it like a resort with a romantic atmosphere where the couple can be pampered, have beautiful comforting areas for private prayer in a beautiful setting of God's perfect creation.

Do you ever have times where you don't feel close to God, or that you are drifting away from Him? What do you do then?

I didn't want to answer this because it is a hard question and opens you up to others. But I'll be the brave one and answer it. May not be able to give another question though.

I feel that way right now. I am very angry about this whole thing with my way too recent ex-boyfriend and I don't understand why God allowed this. In this case I know it's me who is putting the distance.

There have been other times and it is usually when life is good and the apathy sets in.

What I am doing now is starting a quiet time again and very little prayers. I am not in a mood where I can actually speak to Him without losing some control. I think this is when the Holy Spirit prays for you.

I hate to say it but in regards to the second example I gave. He always allowed something ugly to happen. My attention was back on Him completely.

Do you have a favorite opera?
