Nah, mad libbing doesn't work. Because their God is the right one. That, or:
Sounds like FSM is Light, combined with "the heavens declare the glory of FSM; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. [There is] no speech nor language, [where] their voice is not heard. (FrenchyBearpaw 1:1)
See what I did there? Did ya'? Just replaced "God" with "FSM," and still explained just as much.
How big would a record ( LP record - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia ) have to be that the outer rim would need to move at the speed of light to do 33 1/3 rotations in a minute?

As the edge of the disc approaches c, the mass of that circular slice begins to increase. The closer you get the edge to c, the more the mass increases. As it approches c, the mass becomes all-but infinite and the energy required to continue to accelerate the disc also becomes all-but infinite.
So no matter how big your motor, you run out of horsepower before the edge gets to c.

Just as awed as your post awed me would be an appropriate response.Should I be awed at your creativity now, or later?
I do see that you entirely missed the point. (And apparently the guy in your siggy was not only a "theist" but a devout Christian, of the most difficult and austere order, Russian (Eastern) Orthodox)
I think that's a bit of a stretch. Many religious texts speak of divine light of some variety. But none of them, not even Psalm 19, has ever been used to predict the observations made by COBE or WMAP. If you believe the Bible foretold the CMBR, why do you think no one predicted a near-uniform background glow?Fascinating stuff:
Sounds a lot like G-d is Light, combined with "The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. [There is] no speech nor language, [where] their voice is not heard. (Psalm 19)
In the 40's, when it wasn't socially acceptable. It's just amazing all the details we have on the moon. When was it in a closet?
The Moon did not cause plate tectonics per se, though the 'great impact' certainly would have contributed towards it. When the Earth formed, its surface was molten rock. It's still in the process of cooling. Nuclear fusion in the core keeps the mantle hot, so the outer crust is geologically active, so it can't cool into one solid crust. It's like a glass of milk that's gone bad, but because bubbles come up now and then, it can't form a single skin.So if the moon did not break the earths crust what caused plate tectonics, just pressure from below the surface?
Theorists trump experimentalists any dayYep, I am just a techie, your the physicist.
What is your point, though, if not "Ah, that scientific fact vaguely resembles a passage in my particular religious text"? Pointing out that this same comparison can be made with any religion, even made up ones, seems quite apt.Should I be awed at your creativity now, or later?

You don't have to throw out reality in exchange for the mind numbing beliefs of a literal interpretation.

Well... I guess the truth deserves to be advertised.I should probably swap Insane duck's quote for this one in my siggy

How is your made up religion different from ours? That dog don't hunt. If you made up a religion, any vague resemblance would have the benefit of hindsight. And just because I see a clear connection, would not mean that you wouldAnd it really puzzles me why atheists think that a different religion that may have something just as valid would in any way "invalidate" anything G-d has always reached out to mankind.
This that we're responding to was no better than Insane Duck's madlibs, which can be reduced to "I know you are but what am I?" i.e., entirely bankrupt
How is your made up religion different from ours?
