  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

If you feel like it, please share how you arrive at a position of belief or non-belief (or truth or falsehood if you prefer) on the following claim:

"The USA landed a man on the moon in 1969".

This is not a trick question but predictably will be followed up with another thread citing your answers to this one.

Hello everyone. This is my very first post on this forum besides my introduction.

I believe one must always proportion their belief to the evidence. There is simply a massive amount of evidence that we landed on the moon in '69. I was only 2 so I don't remember the first mission but I watched later launches on T.V.

It is logically possible that the whole thing was faked but I think that it is highly unlikely. The amount of effort it would take to pull off a fraud like that would trump any perceived gain.

It was actually shown in multiple ways how it wasn't faked.
