The natural mechanisms already in place. Scientists study them every day and we use them to create things as well.
The natural mechanism we already know about function in predictable ways. Which brings up:
1.What reason do you have to assume that they are an expression of intelligence at all, instead of merely ordered inanimate phenomena?
2.Does the intelligence have the power to change these mechanisms? If so, in what way, by what mechanism, and do you have any objectively observed examples? If not, what practical difference does your hypothesis have from physics? Also if not, refer again to #1.

As an atheist, I believe there is no higher power. Our bodies are made of many different chemicals and elements, such as carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen, with a few more trace elements. These atoms are made up of even smaller subatomic particles. Everything about us relies on how we interact with other matter and the fundamental forces, gravity, electromagnetism, weak nuclear force and strong nuclear force. Our intelligence and our memories are simply electrical and chemical signals that go throughout our brain. We are intelligent matter.

Every random event is its influence on us. The things we cannot predict. The only reason we are here is because our ancestral species, from the beginning of the first life, survived long enough to reproduce. It could all be from just chance, and as an atheist the only deity I could comprehend is matter and the fundamental forces. It doesn't want to be worshipped because when we die we are absorbed back into it.

The only evidence I can think of is that it is us and we are it. When we die our molecules are absorbed back into the fabric of the universe.

Secondly, if the universe itself was intelligent, I would assume that the development of intelligent life would be an eventuality and any planet that can support life would eventually evolve intelligent life.
