Intelligent Design is a valid scientific hypothesis, and the designer is matter/energy. Not only did matter/energy develop the universe and everything in it, it also comprises the universe and everything in it.

Ask questions (see how long I can keep it up)!

Where did Matter/Energy come from?

What purpose does Matter/Energy have for designing the universe?

If the singularity before the Big Bang had unlimited mass, how could it not have an intelligence?

What evidence do you have of this unlimited mass?

How also does Something both create and comprise? Does this mean that it created itself?

Why would it have unlimited mass? The mass of the universe is not unlimited.

Also, ExistenceUnknown, don't ask for evidence. You're just making his job harder. If creationists can't come up with evidence, how do you expect Bananaslug to? It's a bit unfair.

It may have always existed, just as many Big Bang proponents have theorized.

What evidence do you have of this unlimited mass?

Not "unlimited" mass, just the mass of the entire universe. However, we do not really know how big the universe is, all we can see is part of the observable universe.

How also does Something both create and comprise? Does this mean that it created itself?

No, it has always existed. It created from itself, we are a part of it.

I intend on holding his hypothetical to the same rigid standards I hold the creationists too. Would you expect any less from someone seeking scientific truth?

By what mechanism would matter/energy apply it's designs, and/or manifest it's intelligence?

The natural mechanisms already in place. Scientists study them every day and we use them to create things as well.

Isn't this called pantheism?

If not, are you espousing creatio ex materia, or creatio ex deo?

The being does not care about being worshipped because we are a part of it. When we die our bodies return to it so the matter can be used again. It is not creating, it is forming.

Yeah, but at least give him a chance before bringing the big guns out :D.

So if it is not unlimited (as you said earlier), why would you expect intelligence to be inevitable?

Why can't I have a watch more than a few months without it breaking?

Does this suggest that the watchmakers are not intelligent?

No. If it never broke you would never buy another.

Answering a question with a question. You have been paying attention ;).

There is no reason for it to happen. Now, your turn.

There is no reason for anything to happen. If there is no reason for anything to happen, then anything can happen.

In regards to matter being intelligent, we are like bacteria in a petri dish. We cannot ever hope to comprehend the being that experiments on us.

Should we at least try? Or do we stop all pursuit and leave it at that?

How does that mean that it exists?
