Is Satan the father of sinners?
Romans 5:12 & John 8:44.Yes he is the beginning of all sin. Are sons sinners because of their fathers??
Yes, I'm saved-I became a Christian when I was twelve (I'm fourteen now). I grew up in a Christian home going to church, so I had always heard about the gospel, but never really wanted God to take full control over my life. This is just my opinion since I can see both sides, but I don't believe in predestination anymore at all because of many reasons. Most Calvinists use Romans chapter 9 to their defense, but if you deeply study it, the scripture can be taken both ways. As an arminian, I believe that God doesn't predestine believers. If He did, then wouldn't Jesus' life be an example of that? Did Christ go around picking and choosing people to heal, help, or teach? No, He treated everyone equally, because He is the only one who can fully understand that each person is God's loved creation. Also, why would He give us freewill, if the only everlasting choice wasnt able to be made by us.? This might sound very contradicting, but I can see where Calvinists come from, since I believed that God touched my heart deeply which made me become a Christian. But I also believed that someone could make the choice to ignore/remove God from their life.. Sorry if this doesn't make much sense lol I'm only fourteen...but that's my belief![]()

SeraphimsCherub said:Mat 4:18 And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.
Mat 4:19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
Looks like Jesus chose them.
Jesus says this to the Pharicees:
Joh 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
Jesus and John:
Joh_20:2 Then she runneth, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulchre, and we know not where they have laid him.
That's a good point, but He chose them due to their faith-Which they had because of their freewill by God.
Skala said:Actually, the opposite is true sister! We have faith because He chose us
Act 13:48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord, and as many as were appointed to eternal life believed.
Notice in this example, they believed because they had been appointed to eternal life. They didn't become appointed on account of believing.
God's grace in choosing us is why we believe in JesusHe gets all the credit and glory!

Praise GOD for HIS SPIRIT "CAUSES" ALL THIS GOOD STUFF TO HAPPEN FOR us,and we need not worry about trying to "gain" our SALVATION. SALVATION IS A ETERNAL FACT SETTLED IN CHRIST BEFORE THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD:but only those who choose to follow Him gain salvation.
I kinda thought someone would say something along these lines. Are you saying that what God does is governed by different laws that what goes on in His creation? Why would you compare spiritual eternal life, which is God's work, God's doing, to a toy at Christmas?
First, when you "lose" a toy, you lose it because you forgot about it, or misplaced it. That's not the same as "unearning" salvation (losing salvation)
It's a terrible analogy you used.
Then why doesn't EVERYONE have salvation?
Yes, I agree that God should get all the credit, but why would He send people to hell?
He wants to have a relationship with all of His children-All of them
He isnt happy or smiling when someone dies who isn't saved-He died for them, but they didn't accept Him. God isn't a cruel God-I personally think that He shed His blood for all of His creation, but only those who choose to follow Him gain salvation.

I agree that losing a gift given by another human being is not the same a losing salvation. What I was addressing was the fact that some seem to think that it's impossible to lose one's salvation. If that's true then I can't for the life of me figure out why there are so many warnings in Scripture about staying true to the faith and not going back to one's old lifestyle because they are being persecuted too much as a Christian. That's the thesis of the entire Book of Hebrews. If we can't do that then the book of Hebrews is unnecessary.
Have you ever considered that the warnings in scripture serve as a means to the ends? God intends to save, completely and fully, those He saves. What if God uses those warnings to keep His truly saved children on the right path. They serve as a guide that the saints will indeed follow.
If salvation is God's work, and we cannot earn it, how could we lose or mess up what He has done? How could we "unearn it" by any actions we take?
What sin exactly is enough to lose our salvation? Didn't Christ atone for all of our sins, past present and future? If a certain sin makes me lose my salvation, then Christ didn't atone for that sin, did he?
Are you saved? If so, how do you know? Plus, how does one get saved? Can you lose it? Will you lose it? Would you ever want to lose it? Did you choose to get saved or did God choose for you? If God chose for you, how do you know God chose you specifically? Is there anything you can do to make God change His mind about that if He did do the choosing? If you aren't saved then why not? This is open to anybody & everybody who wants to contribute to this thread. I want to hear from you.
